Oh… That was how much spirit?
I hadn’t realized (or had forgotten) that moving from one level to the next costed as many points as the original level (and not a single one, like for Painter…).

Seems to me the devs created this confusion with a very misleading initial announcement.
The mention of the confessions rather leads one to expect companion upgrades would still be available. Quite unfortunate for anyone who fell prey to this misunderstanding.
14,599 spirit while 16k would have been possible.
Azoth managed to get enough to reach level 77, the Courier’s Sin and FBG confirmed that there are no other titles after reaching this level. It can increase, but the description will stay the same.
After 2500 spirit does it matter how much more you get? Like if I got 4000 would I move higher in the ranks then if I got 3000?
And if it does matter, is it directly proportional or is it like a few more change points every 500 or 1000 spirit interval?
-A tad confused, Penea
The more Spirit you have after the usual 2500 is deducted, the higher you move up the Knight ranks. The wiki has the formula.
Thank you, Fishy McBrainfish, for being a helpful companion in the Cave of the Nadir!
Do you people even sleep? I mean, it’s 1000-1150 per day. Dutchess option gives around 7 per action, so 142+ actions per day without cashing it in, confessions and other stuff.
This was a great selection of companions etc. this year! I’d felt the last few events were a little weak in rewards, so I’m glad this one compensated.
Slept very well, wasn’t prepared, as usual, and things went pretty well. My advantage is that I can check the game enough to not waste AP during the day.
The Duchess gain is 4+4 on failure, but with gear you can get to 6+6 almost every time. The end result is almost 8 spirit/AP. This puts it on an average of 87 130 AP/day.
EDIT: Wrong numbers, sorry!
I messed up and forgot to fail all the checks. Still did pretty well with the 6+1 of a success.
Back to the Hinterland City, and, to my delight, I’ve found that adding the Hallowmas gear to my wardrobe lets me 100% a few challenges that I previously couldn’t/had to micromanage!
Yes, and getting to ace some of the Chthonosophic challenges on the roof with my new painter’s palette is pretty sweet too.
