On the topic of The Attendants:
This has probably been speculated about somewhere already, but is the Duchess’ sister from that ES the same person as the Queen of Arbor we meet now? Is the Queen a different sister of the Duchess? Or not a sister at all?
I’d also love to know who wrote the whole Arbor content for this Hallowmas! :)
If the Roseate Queen isn’t one of the Duchess’ sisters then she’s at least a descendant/from the Second City, 100%! I wanna believe that the Queen is one of the Sisters, but if she is then she isn’t the same person as the Obstinate Adoratrice. The Adoratrice is the second eldest sister, and the one that went South to the Elder Continent and ended up in Arbor is the fifth.
Do we know at what hour Hallowmas will end? I’m still helping folks out with confessions, and it’d be terrible to miss my chance to get the weapon.

Seems that having 5+ progress does unlock something new! I decided to pump my alt and test things and I ended up with these options after I picked to witness the solving of the mystery! There are 3 options which all unlock with 5 progress of each 2 princess and one that requires 5 progress to all.
Ask why no one has been selected
The Envoy frowns. "We are at a stalemate."
Learn how to reduce Progress to ensure you can enter Arbor.

Reduce Progress from unwanted candidates by betraying their secrets to their rivals. You can also share their secrets with the Mayor from the main Hallowmas 1896: Where did the Rosers Go?’ card.

Betrayed the Princess and the Widow, got some help with some confession exchange and I ended up with Duchess progress 12, but no new options.

This is a good time to ask people to help update the wiki’s Hallowmas history page, so we all remember by next year how this holiday had been (and actually, the election history page also needs help updating with this year’s changes…)
Officially, we don’t. In practice, around noon UK time, sometimes later, sometimes a bit earlier. It’s 11:57 right now so if you haven’t gotten your weapon yet consider yourself extremely lucky and go grab it now, they can turn it off at literally any second (or they could leave it up for another hour, nobody knows, but do you want to risk that?)
[spoiler]The Duchess’s clue made me think it was a possibility; however, once we got her it is clear that this sister has been in Arbor for many, many years. As of 1895, the other sister had been in a palace by herself, so deep into dream that only one person had found her, for many, many years. Thus, it seems that we have the location of a second sister.
Somewhere, at some point (was it during The Attendants?), the Duchess said something relevant about her sisters and their fates. I can’t lay may hand on the text, but she did say something about one of her sisters on the Elder Continent. My early guess is that this is that sister.[/spoiler]

My main went with the Widow to Arbor. The text to speak with her says she’s nowhere to be found (rather conveniently, considering she’s always in a darkened room when we meet her in London) but surely while preparing to depart, and whilst crossing into Arbor together, we caught a glimpse of her?
Where is the shocking reveal of her true countenance, illuminated by a honey-hued false-sun and the light from the South?

I have inflicted the Contrarian upon Mr Huffam. I got stuck on whether to take the ambassadorship myself or give it to him, but on reflection I think I made the right choice both because I think he’ll genuinely be good at it and because just about every interaction he has with other characters is hilarious.

Damn! I thought today was the last day as in “last chance to play the story” and I could still do everything… I was very unsure of what I was supposed to do all along and didn’t want to waste any confession, didn’t have time until then to read the forums thoroughly… I’m super super disappointed.
And next time Hallowmas will be different once again, I will never be able to play this. Seriously, I’m sad.
So I have a choice between having him interview my Very Lenient Judge, the Scuttering Scoundrels, or me on either the debating lessons or my ambassadorship. I’m rather leaning towards the last two, but wouldn’t mind some spoilers as to the results.

I feel for you, but seriously, HOW DID YOU NOT CHECK?! Aside from the announcements, it was said over and over in this thread that the last confession was yesterday, and the event was ending today.
I misunderstood the meaning of "ending today", as I said I thought that it meant "It’s the last day to play the story".
And I also said that I didn’t have time until today to read the forums thoroughly, I just checked it quickly so I got it wrong, I was planning to read everything today.
(I’m currently talking with a friend who also said that he didn’t understand anything about the whole event and think that the explanations given were not very good :/)

I am in the same boat as Heather. I was out all yesterday working at the polls (it was Election Day here) and when I got home I was trying to trade one now Confession for a second Clue. Shouldn’t have tried that. ARRGH!
It does kind of suck for American players that the last day of the event was Election Day.
I’m Canadian so that wasn’t a problem for me personally; if I wasn’t such a night owl it might have been a problem that it ended at 4 am my time (EST players might have had a chance to take a crack at it in the early morning, since it ended at 7 am there). I still managed to do pretty much everything I wanted in the last three hours, although I wanted to grab some debating lessons for my alt and had to settle for Huffam’s confession rewards because I was busy with my main when it ticked over.
