I’ve discovered what appears to be an error in the forum software. Should I email support about it, or would posting it suffice?
[spoiler]Attempting to view page 2 of my sent private messages on the forum redirects to ‘/privatemessages.aspx?Page=1’, which does not exist. Manually visiting ‘/privatesent.aspx?Page=1’ takes me to page 2 as I would want the link to, though whether making ?Page=1 lead to the 2nd page is good practice is another discussion entirely.
Oh, and for what it’s worth, clicking to go to page 1 takes me to ‘/privatemessages.aspx’, which also doesn’t exist.[/spoiler] edited by The Machinist on 4/22/2015
When you have storylets which exist solely to provide a fate-locked redo of content (e.g. “Another Round With Jack” or “The Door of Poison-Cedar”), could you please move them to the NEX tab? I don’t need them as storylets. They’re just taking up room.
If you’re concerned about making sure people know they’re there, I’d recommend adding an advisory note to the end of the stories. Where you say things such as, A new option has been locked on the Connected: Bohemian card., just add another paragraph: If you later decide you are unhappy with this conclusion, you can play again from the Nex tab.

Yes, this!
I would suggest moving the Affair of the Box and Plaster-face reset to the Nex tab as well, given it is quite possible people might click on it in accident.
Some more feedback on Plans. It would be useful to be able to plan things without being in the area. I’m at Zee, but have just realised what I need to do next for my Ambition. But I can’t go Plan that.
Feedback from a design standpoint: When On A Heist, an Intriguing Key has very few uses (only one, as far as I am aware), and you can also use Inside Information in order to do that job.
I understand that, by design, some options have to be better than the other, but the Intriguing Key doesn’t even provide any real narrative rewards (it’s a small part in the middle of a carousel) and seems to exist as a trap for people going on their first heist.
I hope I’m putting this in the right thread. Have you ever considered adding a note feature to the contacts? Sometimes it’s hard for me to remember what is what. Say one contact tells me they’re happy to help with Nightmares but please not to ask them for help with Scandal. Perhaps another contact is explicitly interested in the (non-existent) game of K&C but I mix them up with the contact who just wants to trade chess games. I;m not sure if that’s something you’d consider doing, and it’s not a big deal, but it seems like a very small thing that would be pretty useful.
I have no idea if this has been suggested, but perhaps Fallen London Music?
Like, a soundtrack which plays in the background, according to which place you are in. Veilgarden would have this cheery, kinda violin music, while the Forgotten Quarter would have something sad, as if it was taken out of Harry Potter: Deathly Shadows Part 2.
If something like that does get implemented I would hope that it didn’t play unless I was actively on the tab, since I tend to watch Youtube videos while I’m waiting for actions, and I’d rather not have to log out first. It would also have to be optional.

If something like this were to happen, I would honestly rather it just be a completely separate product. Much like the "Official Dungeons and Dragons Soundtrack" Wizards of the Coast commissioned of Midnight Syndicate, which was 23 tracks of Music Obviously To Be Played At Your D&D Session As Atmosphere Dictated.
Plus there’s a bunch of accessibility and usability issues to consider with adding something like that, but I should leave that rant to someone more qualified.
Everything seems accounted for on my accounts, but if you lost anything in the switch I would recommend sending an email in to support - support@failbettergames.com
I hope this is the correct forum to post in. Two things:
Searching the forum, I get "The free version returns the first 5 results only"
I purchase Nex, and I bought Sunless Sea. I have to pay to use the forum also?
My search here on ‘Burglars Progress’ brought me nothing, but I want to ask why I needed it to reach 9 instead of 5 this time before I was offered the prize under the Glim heist? In the past I have sometimes found that the prize won’t be offered on the next card, only one or maybe two later, but to have to increase Progress to nine surely means a glitch?
Thanks for any help.
(p.s. After "The free version returns the first 5 results only", I changed font back to black and in the typing window it all looks fine, but in preview it’s still all in red. Duh…)
Failbetter Games doesn’t own the forum software, Jitbit does. To upgrade to the premium version FBG would need to pay Jitbit for it, and then we would get access to the features not available in the free version. The message is just trying to coax those using the free version of the software for their communities to upgrade, it doesn’t mean anything for the individual members of the community. The limited searching is just something we have to deal with, alas.
As for your Burglar’s Progress question…I think it was just a run of bad luck. The game doesn’t force the prize card into your hand when you reach the right amount, so if you’re unlucky you’ll end up drawing other cards instead. It isn’t that you need the additional Burglar’s Progress, you just can’t draw more cards without freeing up a slot first.
I changed the color back to normal, but if it happens again you can always click the "switch to source" button on the far right. That lets you see all the BBCode at play in your post, allowing you to clear it out.
