Feast of the Exceptional Rose: 2026 is here!

“It is the season for affection, is it not?” Mr Spices’ voice is high and fluting. It waves a shawl-enshrouded hand airily in the direction of the Bazaar. “It is incumbent upon us to ensure that the city is a fertile bed for budding romance.”

The Feast of the Rose is here! A festival bursting with affectionate activities, nuptial phantasies, burgeoning romance… and shot through with scorn. Tend to the business of your heart through ‘Celebrate the Feast of the Exceptional Rose’, available throughout London.

Great timing, I was just thinking about getting a NPC spouse for my alt.

My alt Trashy appreciates gifts, but might not have the expensive ones you seek. :winking_face_with_tongue:

The once-dashing smuggler!

Do you get the new Spousal opportunity card if you’re married to the sea/your own privacy?

Also, sounds like the enigmatic Rat Agent isn’t here either… mysteries abound.

Well one of the new Companions is a Rat. So there’s still some possibility, we’ll found out more next week.

Ah d__n, I was finally getting started with the latest Firmament chapter! Well, back to London it is, at least for a little while.

Found out earlier this year that I have procrastinated getting a second tattoo at FotER for years because I wanted to save up for one of the Goat tattoos. :upside_down_face:

This is the year to get another second tattoo. First one was Dreaded, second one will be Bizarre. Alt will get his first tattoo.

I still want to own the Overgoat and the Ubergoat, the latter which imo is the best method to spend one Fate in this game, no contest.

Firmament stuff is for the lull in between major events on the calendar. Assuming you’re not occupied with other in-game stuff.

Well, I was grinding for next year’s Memory of Double Spring, then I was just waiting for people to kindly share their guidance on the wiki, and then I got busy with work. I’ll get back to it in a week or so, I guess.

Anybody wanna trade pink-painted cats?

I’ve created a thread for gift-trading here - if we put all the gift requests and offers in there, then this thread can be for discussing mechanics, lore, new companions and so on!

I’m over the moon that we can now “upgrade” our player-spouse! I’ve wanted this for a long time, and it’s finally here!

Quick check: if you have found the Exceptional Rose in a previous year, you can’t look for it again?

Edit: I think you can do it again, but on the second week, when Millicent appears. Revisit the Exceptional Rose. For the new characters who haven’t done it, the ‘The Exceptional Rose’ storylet is everywhere.

Yay! Player spouse upgrades! I’ve been feeling for years that I should in-game divorce my in-game and real-life spouse for an in-game upgrade, but sentimentally, didn’t want to. I’m not a huge fan of the whole boon thing in general, I just find it a pain trying to have them when I actually need them, but it’s definitely still an improvement.

Anyone knows the perks of both of the new NPC spouses?

I looked through the wiki and the Clay Confidant gives you +1 Fitting when you bring him into the Helicon House.

Looks like that info is slowly getting put on the wiki. Might be a while before we find everything. I still don’t see any info at all about “The Call of the Unterzee” yet.

I’ve added as much info as I can about the different new options, but none of them are my forever Spouse do I’m not dropping the Fate. I’m playing through the Attentive Reporter storyline to add it to the wiki, but pausing for now until a potential typo is addressed, which probably means Monday.

I SOOOOO wish they’d make the Lady in Lilac a story, instead of a card! Waiting for that bl–dy card top show up is the most intensely frustrating part of this holiday! Blasted worthless RNG!

The Lady in Lilac will become a storylet during the third week of the Feast. In the meantime, you can force her to show up using Favourable Circumstances in your Social Engagements.

Unfortunately, you can’t force-draw the Encounter at the Feast card to spend your Masquing, but that card will also become a storylet next week.

Now I remember my pet peeve about FotR…

Playing hide and seek with the Lady in Lilac on the second week. Wiki claims it’s ‘Frequent Frequency (twice as common as Standard)’, but actual gameplay doesn’t make you feel that way.
