I know. At the same point when you can no longer exchange Rose gifts! Just too late to be useful, if you need to fix a miscalculation. If they would just eliminate the card versions altogether, and have them both appear as stories instead during the second week, my frustration and stress levels during this holiday would vanish!

Every year it changes for me. Two years ago(?) I had a hard time drawing Lilac’s card (and didn’t know you could force it). Then, it was the encounter card. Now I can’t seem to draw the normal feast of the rose card to get masquing back up to 20 for free.

I decided to spring for the venge-rat. Who knows, maybe at Hallowmas I can scare her into settling for stable employment. There’s no guarantee, of course, but I’m willing to put a little down on the off chance.

I just wouldn’t have gotten it at all if I’d known it had nothing to do with the teased Rat agent plot. They could have made that clearer since it’s Fate. As it is now I’m not going to get any more Fate stuff for this event.

Is it normal for the Encounter card to be so rare? I swear I’ve pulled at least five instances of The Paronomastic Newshound from the deck in the time it took me to get one An Encounter at the Feast card. I even used two of the jellied mushroom cakes and it still didn’t come up. It says it’s a frequent card, but I have serious doubts about that.

I’ve drawn it four times today alone. It’s definitely a fairly frequent card, it’s just the simple fact of the matter that when you have a game with a large playerbase, someone will get improbably unlucky. Today it’s you, tomorrow it’ll be someone else. All I can tell you is that you’ve just got to keep drawing. … And of course to make sure you have at least one point of Masquing, just in case, the card won’t show up otherwise.

Basically, yes. Twice as common doesn’t mean much in a thick deck. I’ve been flipping cards since it became available on multiple characters, and only today did my main get their third draw. Everyone else has only drawn it once or twice.
Given there are now 29 non-FATE companions requiring 298 Masquing to obtain, I wouldn’t complain if they bumped the Encounter card up to Abundant, like the old Sacksmas cards.
Although, arguably, RNG masochism is part of the charm.

Pity the card’s frequency can’t increase as you gain Masquing, so if you get to 20+ it’ll draw easily but while you’ve got low amounts you’ll still draw the Feast card more frequently.
I know you can just collect enough gifts to make the necessary trades in week 3, but the extra maths involved is a headache.

I didn’t get it once yesterday or today so far, which is really frustrating.
Ok, correction: I drew it once today. Can’t tell how many times I drew the The Spinning of the Wheels card which I can’t even use and can’t get rid of.

Damn, I thought ‘Fecund Ground’ (turning in Burgeoning Romance) is still available in the third week. I hope my 100k+ accumulated Burgeoning Romance is not wasted, or replaced with a worse deal than actually turning them in.

It decays into Romantic Notions at the feast’s end. I seem to recall the rate is the same as the things you can trade it in for, on an echoes-per-Burgeoning-Romance level.

Finally finished collecting all the 20-Masquing-Or-Less companions, including the Milton and the Smuggler. Picked up the Analgesic Rhetorician, too. And a Be-Ribboned Kitty! Thanks, Delicious Friends, for a wonderful Feast!

Is this your first FotER?
My main took several years to collect everything. It’s my alt’s first FotER, he got all but four of the 20x Masquing companions, the remainder will be obtained next year.
Unless FL changes things, all the companions will be available every year, it’s not a seasonal thing.

No, fishandchips, I’ve done this many, many years. I’ve just concentrated on the more major ones, and just filled in with lower ones as convenient. Finally got around to finishing the small fry is all. It just feels good!
