F.F. Gebrandt for Lord Mayor!

F.F. Gebrandt says:

&quotIf he isn’t backed by a Master, then I’m your aunt.&quot

LMAO. Bless you FBG, bless you … you’re the best!

That was a pretty great meta joke.

Damn it cards, give me this one!

After some seriously heated debate with Eleonor Donegal, I’ve decided to throw my lot in with F.F. I initially was for the Vicomtesse, but Ellie said that, if war comes, we should first arm ouselves with knowledge, as it is the most powerful weapon of all.

When I was told by Huffam’s press that the Entrepreneur had no chance, my knee-jerk was to render his news false! Then I learned he has genuine goals for elevating the lot of his kin, but is having his strings pulled by a Master and a manipulative Landscape Artist who has their own agenda. It’s too much of a mess of interests. With the railway opening up our borders to Hell, with the Viscountess opening up our borders to Parabola… I am now considering Gebrandt as the candidate most likely to shore up our defences against two potential wars, with science! Imagine a new mounted division of Constables charging into battle on the backs of armoured dinosaurs! They could even pose a threat to their Masters, with such a force.

I was going For Science! anyway, but after looking a little deeper into her personal matters, We have no choice but to stan.

Huffam’s 4th Poll is asking about an ‘Avid Horizon.’ I’ve been playing the game for several years and I don’t know what this is. I need to leave London more, it seems…

I think the point of the question was “if you could get rid of one candidate, who would it be?” Of course, my answer was F.F. Gebrandt. I am not convinced that her project would help the working class, and I suspect she just want more freedom to create experiment of dubious morality.

The Avid Horizon is the gateway to space in the North.

I also find it joyful that your Aunt supports F.F. That must get confusing sometimes.

The final step in SMEN is opening the gate at the Avid Horizon. It also ends the game in Sunless Sea.

It shows up in Sunless Skies too.

The fact that she is a scientist pretty much decided the deal for me, not quite sure she will actually do what she claims to do, but would be interesting to see her try.

I heard all of the rumours and campaign promises, listened to the campaigners, withstood the fixers and avoided the agitators. Ended up back where I started, giving all my votes to science.

I admit, I’m quite fond of all three candidates this year. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more of what each of them is up to in the future, as has been hinted.

That said, the choice is easy. Your Aunt? Dinosaurs in service of Railway, Science and Industry (and a little reasonable Revolution thrown into the mix)?

Real, live pack Dinosaurs? What else can you vote for?

For those fellow supporters of FF who obtained an augmented electrostatic machine during the election, there’s now an option in Parabola under &quotTend a Curious Tree&quot requiring hedonist 6 but only 100 bone fragments! I assume it provides a parabolan orange-apple, but I haven’t the necessary hedonist to check

(Apologies if this is old news, I’ve only just discovered it)

I haven’t seen so either, though I didn’t think to look earlier.

It really is a worthwhile exchange: 21 CP of Hedonist + 100 Bone Fragments for not one, but TWO Parabolan Orange-Apples (harvested in one action, at that).
Of course, the cost in Hedonist is rather prohibitive, so you won’t be able to do it very often.

She’s back! Who here is ready to conduct groundbreaking research and/or distill copious amounts of narcotics in the privacy of their own laboratory?

Count me in! The narcotics will help me endure wrestling with the RNG for rare, obscure, and possibly useles items on the Railway.

Where’s she?
