Yes! Take my vote. Take all of my votes.
I said it would take serious competition to change my vote, competition is here. Cats everyone!
I think last year was making the best of a bunch of bad options. This year we may be spoiled for serious candidates who just have different priorities.
And here we are.
After all of the candidates have been revealed, Gelbrandt has my vote for roleplaying reasons. Cora has worked too much with Fingerkings to vote for The Viscountess, and while she works with the Entrepreneur on the Railway, she’s a woman of science at heart. I at least owe her for making the Laudanum that I rely on.
I’m torn between getting Gelbrant and the Rubbery Entrepreneur. I guess I’ll wait to who gets my vote based on what the investigations turn up!
She definitely has my vote! I’m also glad to see what she actually looks like.
Very true. This is already making me much more keen to campaign.
As a science minded fellow - she’s almost a shoe-in for my vote.
But as a finisher of the Marvellous, and a dream wanderer, a candidate with ties to Parabola could at least pique my interest.
Seriously - I haven’t had so much trouble choosing a candidate since the first election.
I am seriously planning to base my judgment on the campaign rewards they provide, and what other information we learn about them during the campaign. As it stands now, I’d be happy to have any of the three become Lord Mayor.
I’m betting on the candidate who can offer a bribe with each tentacle. The cat hasn’t got a prayer.
Well, had Virginia reproposed for Mayor I would have voted her but, right now, F.F. Gerbrandt seems the best candidate.
Same.
Gebrandt is in the Bone Market as of this morning, and there are a few things that you can chat with her about. You can take a Kataleptic Toxicology check that gives me a 60% success at KT 3 and offers an Extraordinary Implication on success. You can also spend an action to build a skeleton with a unique description if you have 10 Unidentified Thighbones, a Sabre-toothed Skull, a Jet Black Stinger and a Thorned Ribcage. I’m going to pick up an Anning’s kit to see if the Skeleton has any special options.
As for her platform…
It sounds like a curious mix between science and necromancy, to be honest. I’m not convinced that I want reanimated skeletons walking around London, but I’m going to keep an open mind.
The esteemed Mrs. Gebrandt may claim to be a scientist, but what’s her main source of income? Peddling laudanum to hapless Londoners! Getting them addicted to her vile concoctions! Say no to this vile fiend!

So it looks like we might be able to get Mme. Gebrandt as a lab assistant in the future.
To be completely fair, during that time in real London laudanum was regarded as a honest medicine, not a vilesome drug.

"Completely fair"??
Have you come completely loose from your moorings, delicious friend? This is an election! There’s no fair in it!

…I won’t lie, Gebrandt declaring she’s in favor of paleonecromancy is what tempted me most about her platform. I must ultimately retain my support for the Viscountess (whenever I FINALLY draw that card that lets me side with a candidate already) however for one simple reason: Judging by one of the options for dealing with the Commissioner’s nightmares, Parabola offers much more ambitious opportunities for building animate skeletons than the Neath and therefore taming it is a priority.

While my character might question why one would choose to engage in paleonecromancy, he is also willing to accept "FOR SCIENCE!" as a more than satisfactory answer.
