Not sure if this is actually new or not, but it seems the admiralty directions have been fixed. At least, their directions are now wrong not because of the old map, because I’m told Gaider’s Mourn is not far from home waters.
I hope that after Steel we don’t have to wait too long for more areas to be added to the game as, personally, I didn’t find combat the most frustrating aspect of Sunless Sea.
What I wish is that map shuffling hadn’t been introduced until there were more tiles in the game. Don’t get me wrong I am still enjoying the game and actually finding that the positions of various islands and features within a tile can be different definitely mixed things up and made things more exciting. As now finding a place doesn’t mean that you know exactly where to go to find the next nearest light, rock or island.
But getting endless blank tiles can be very frustrating, some of them do have lights or placeholder islands to make navigating without increasing terror easier but some are completely blank and until you zail into them you don’t know what you are going to find. Plus the zeebat doesn’t always work - for example mine doesn’t recognise any of the features in the Snares. Also I’m still not too sure about the Admiralty directions.
The other thing that I am looking forward to is the integration of Officers, being able to learn their stories and seeing what the placeholder options during certain events do. Even if this does mean that we risk losing them.
So I really am looking forward to whatever Alexis and the Failbetter team come up with but hope that we don’t have to wait too long:)

It would be nice to get an update from the devs if we’re still expecting some steel this month.
Loved the latest content update, it sent me dashing all over the map to get the things needed and I am very pleased with my upgraded crew member.
I’m also looking forward to taking another trip beyond the Mangrove College when I have the resources, it looks like there are several possibilities there as it took me a few trips to get the item.
They’re adding The Reef of Roses, Visage, Gossamer Way, Isle of cats, Nuncio, The Gant Pole, and the Chelonate wit hSteel

Yeah, there are some really nice shinies in the swamp. So far I’ve scored a Curiosity, two lumps of blue scintillack, and miscellaneous other shinies, plus some ant bites. And it looks like there’s a new pet although I haven’t found it yet.
(Also four of my crew were eaten by trees, but they knew the risks. Or if they didn’t, they know by now.)
I will say, the new crew-member storyline could come as a bit of a shock if you weren’t carrying a couple of pieces of SPOILER with you. Might want to have five or ten extra Zee-Stories on hand before downloading the updates.
Yikes - the Campaigner’s story basically fails permanently the moment I leave the harbour.

I think it is - at least you can get her to an upgraded version. Whether there will be more later only Failbetter know :)

Yes there is a new mascot/pet but I can’t see it in my inventory or on my officer page, maybe I have too many mascots. So I’m going to have to send an email about it.

I believe the the Brisk Campaigner’s storyline is tied to the amount of time that has passed in the game itself - which makes it horribly inconvenient for those of us who have been with her and without this content patch for quite some time. I was rushing north to grab some muttersalt and she just dies before my ship even leaves the sight of Fallen London.
I don’t know if I should just go on without her or wait for the game to be patched for this inconvenience.

If you’re playing on Merciful or willing to Alt-F4, you should be able to get through it by reloading - her storyline activates annoyingly often, but it’s not on a fixed timer.
Well, I suppose I could give that a shot.
FWIW, just downloaded this new update, continuing a saved game which has been in play since almost Day 1, and had no trouble keeping the Campaigner around while I sought out her various ingredients. I don’t know whether there’s a chance for each recipe to work or not, but I certainly did not encounter any risk of her death while crossing the Unterzee. Perhaps it is patched?
Doesn’t look like it’s been patched since I did mine - no new updates showing. I’d guess the RNG just likes you more :-)
After the Campaigner’s storyline kicks off, there’s a randomly-timed event which will kill her if you don’t have muterzalt handy. Being over the wrong side of the zee and not having the wherewithal to buy it anyway (having just finished Zong of the Zee), it took me a couple of reloads before I was able to avoid it long enough to get her cured.

Yes - next week hopefully.
There is also some new content which has lead to another treasure hunt. Time to visit everywhere and see if I can track down the items.

How are peoples treasure hunts going? I’m doing well enough, just trying to figure out the tooth and where to find lorn flukes.
What are the spoiler policies on this board? If we are supposed to hide spoilers, how do you do that?
I have found four of the items but I haven’t found the Monster’s Tooth … yet.
Lorn Flukes can be found in the Principles of Coral just go slightly North East of Port Cecil or around the Fathom Kings.
