I too am putting my vote with the Viscountess. Gebrandt cannot be trusted and neither can Fires.
All rubbery, all the time. Anyone who trusts a feline who gives them brain parasites or someone who gives away “free”samples of “scientific dietary supplements” will regret it.
My railroad and I support the tentacled entrepreneur!
The fact that he is on the railroad’s board is irrelevant!
I would be happy with any of the candidates, to be honest, but my vote goes to F.F. Gebrant.
Science and necromancy, two of my favorite things! Imagine all the possibilities!
The Cat got me. Gerbrandt is more equally promising and dangerous (I would not mind her winning, though her intentions and integrity are blurred) and the enterpreneur is as much a monster as any ruthless human industrialist of that era.
Has anyone collected any of the responses when the railway board endorses a candidate? (I am particularly interested what Furnace Ancona has to say as I consider my choice.)
Heh, I’m all for FFG but this did make me chuckle!
I don’t have the text on hand, but she considers FFG the least objectable of them all, and the viscountess the most.

Thanks. I tried that line on my railway board, and they have unanimously endorsed the Tentacled Entrepreneur. I imagine my promise never to serve calamari at board meetings helped as well.
Are we supposed to get an election occupation item as well as an item for choosing a particular candidate? I seem to be only able to choose 1?
You get 1 free gift, which can be either the item associated with your Election Career, the item associated with your Candidate, or one of the other three new items this year (eyeball, cloak, or gargoyle). If you want more than one item, you need to pay Fate.
Speaking of getting things, does the opportunity to exchange Reputation for mourning candles, etc. expire on the 24th with the election, or continue for any time after?

Huffam’s 4th Poll is asking about an ‘Avid Horizon.’ I’ve been playing the game for several years and I don’t know what this is. I need to leave London more, it seems…
It’s a northern port you can find in SSea (or FL, with certain parameters).
It’s quite interesting that Huffam’s pollsters are quizzing people about it so casually.
It’s also the door to the High Wilderness, located at the north of the zee. You can visit it frequently in both Sunless Sea and Sunless skies (Though not the same side of the door.)

I’m still so torn on who to support this election. I’ve thrown in my lot with the Viscountess for now, primarily because I really want some more Parabolan content and am very interested in seeing if a certain red-handed monarch is finally brought to the fore, but I don’t actually like her very much as a character.
F. F. Gebrandt might be the character I sympathise with the most. She’s severed her connections to the Masters, is pragmatic and educated, and actually has an admirable sense of morality. Unfortunately, I’m not that interested in Palaeontology but her mentions of toxicology give me a faint hope. As a Licentiate and Nemesis player, that’s one of two advanced stats I have a decent amount of.
The Rubbery Entrepreneur is a bit of a wild card. I’m interested in rubbery art, and seeing more about the rubbery men in general, but I don’t like his connections to the Masters, the involvement of the Nocturnal Landscape Artist (being the egomaniac that he is), or the whole ‘rubbery sweatshop’ deal (though I feel like there are potentially deeper reasons for that). However, the Entrepreneur himself is incredibly endearing and his fate-locked interaction is far and away the best of the three candidates.
Curse you, Failbetter, for making this years content so good!
Vote Rubbery! OTHATAROOTH!
No, Vote Viscountess! (Also, I genuinely fail to understand why people think F.F. Gebrandt is a moral person, and why her pursuit of Science! is a good idea. Frankly, for me, she is the most despicable candidate.)
Best of all, there are no fleas on the Entrepreneur!
