It’s a weapon.

+1 for the Organ! :))
Best non-profession weapon for persuasive so it is "pretty good"!
EDIT: Oh, you had some rubbery connections before the update… :D

It’s not a pet, I am saved!
(yes, I’d try to get it if it was. Yes, it does kill me that there are pets out of my grasp. yes, I have a problem)

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea, Urchins will have some nice uses for favours but I don’t remember many cards that could give favours. (I can’t wait to see their renown items as well).
This will also be the first connection to be involved in the benefactor storyline and the first faction that you will be able to sell the location of the cave of the nadir to.

Farming time! Any estimated ETA?
EDIT: An approximate required level for Renown 50 would be nice as well! :p And is the Speak softly to the little villains the best option for grind Connection? :(

This might be tough to grind quickly. I don’t think there’s any efficient way to grind Urchins. Fun with the Fisher Kings gives just +3 CP. Is there any other storylet based way to raise the Connection?
The most effective way is via conflict cards, but:
- 1) This is up to the RNG[/li][li]2) With the recent changes, conflict cards are less useful for raising connections. e.g. the Docks/Urchins cards can’t give connections anymore - it can only be used to destroy connections/favours. The Widow/Urchins and Hell/Urchins cards are still an option, though.
Yup - ditch your pet when its card comes up, and then you can boost Urchins from the gold-bordered three-way card in the Veilgarden. It’s not a bad way of doing it, but it’s not fast either. Conflict is probably the easier option - boost connections with the Widow, and trade them in for Urchin.
You need to wait for your Connection Pet card to pop and get rid of your current rodent.
I myself decided to not grind Urchin connections besides conflict cards and think I’ll probably be able to reach Renown 8 by that time; 15 would be sweet.
I think this is the first time we can find out how selling the location of the nadir works with the favour/renown system.
Hum… tempting, tempting indeed! :D
Urchins is one of my lowest connected qualities…Looks like I will be living with the Fisher_Kings for the next few weeks.

Yeah, that’s why I’m debating whether it’s worth trying . . .
I’m at 35-ish, so there’s an insanely low chance I’ll get anywhere near enough to make 50 renown.
Anyway, the wiki says you can get a card in Veilgarden for a better percentage of CP, but you need to have no connected pets . . . I’m not sure how to get rid of my connected pet to try it, but I suspect it’ll involve waiting for the RNG to give me the pet card and then ditching them via that (or so I hope).[/quote]
I’d say either burn down to 26/27 or build up past 51. otherwise, you’ll just waste free favors from the carnival, not the usual renown. (Assuming the conversion rate is the rubbery-type-conversion ~renown = connected-21/5. Renown 1 doesn’t actually cost a favor, just gives a single point of renown.) if you want 50, you’d need around 200+. if you want 20, that’s easier- though far from easy, at ~121
So, ah, I hate to lose connections! Which means I have been ignoring the undiscardable cards that have been showing up. With the advent of the Rubbery revamp, that means, er, well. My five-card deck is no longer quite so useful.
I guess that… someday… I’ll resolve a few of these. It doesn’t help that the Affair of the Box cards are Impossible!, but ah well.
I suggest using the connection items to convert your favours into renown.
Oh, awesome! I have not been reading the changelogs carefully enough and wasn’t really clear on the mechanics of Favours and Renown. Thanks!

You could also spend Favours at "Call in Favours at the Forgotten Quarters/Shuttered Palace/etc".
Other than that, if you don’t care for Renown, only Criminals have a lot of profitable opportunities to use Favours.
Docks only have the Expedition option, Tomb Colonies only have the chance to trade CoC for favours.
Not much else to do with those Favours right now.
So there is no harm in using those cards to gain echos and lose your Favours.
(Unless you DO care about the building the Renown system).
The Docks option for Expedition Supplies is very profitable iirc. Given someone calculated it as 5-6 EPA before, I wonder what the profitability of the Gallery of Serpents is now.
As a person with an Orphanage (yeah, I know, that thing everyone tells you not to get unless you hate Making Waves :P), I constantly grind Urchins but then immediately use it up. I can’t recall the last time I got above 30.
It’s gonna be weird to have zero Renown: Urchins after a year and a half spent constantly interacting with them. C’est la vie.
Waitwaitwaitwait, changelogs? Where are there changelogs I can read???
