Coming soon: a return to the Forgotten Quarter

There are plenty of colors that humans can’t see, but various animals (like certain varieties of shrimp) can. I wonder if Rubbery Men see a broader spectrum of color than we do?

irrigo is an actual word you know

[li]flails I am about to go CRAZY(er), because I just can’t for the life of me flip cards for the Secular Missionary or the Revolutionary Firebrand, and I already have a creepy skull that keeps trying to eat my brain, Archaeologist 5, and a giant pile of supplies. Is there some tiny thing I’m missing, or is this simply a matter of having to be patient while slowly going more insane?

You can do heists in-between to clear your deck. You won’t draw the secular missionary that way, but you’ll remove any skull cards you may have temporarily.[/li]

And maybe it’s just my luck, but it feels as though the pace of skull cards slowed some as of late.

That seems to be the case for me too, though I don’t care so much now that I know how to flush the Opportunity cards, Skull or not, that I’ve drawn.

Oh what, just entering the cave gives one irrigo now. Trips to nadir are now even shorter.

Edit: also if anyone needs an eyeless skull, you can send a social action request to a friend asking them to give you one. I currently have two I don’t need if anyone wants them.

Short but sweet. I just became 640 Echoes richer.

The Irrigo on entry is to stop people going in and out until they draw the cards they want. With that kind of money at stake, the three-action entry cost isn’t enough of a disincentive.

(Disclaimer: my profits this time are atypical. I’ve spent twice as long in there and made under 30 Echoes.)

Just finished my latest delve into the Nadir. I’m now the proud owner of an irrigo item for every normal inventory slot save for Gloves. I do wonder if the combination will have an effect. I do wonder if gloves will be forthcoming.[li]

Has anyone raised their “Counting the Days” to 15 or higher with this option?
http://fallenlondon.wikia.com/wiki/Fortune’s_page

If so, did you discover any new options on the “Secrets and Spending” card or anywhere else?

14 is usually the highest limit of CtD, but the Nadir option pushes it beyond 14… How high do you have to go to find a fortune of particular interest? Maybe even something the Numismatrix has mentioned?

Just a reminder that I grind for skulls all the time and have a current surplus of five. If you need a skull contact me and I can explain the skull gifting process.

Oh dear someone has just requested that I send them an eyeless skull. It has taken me ages on and off to get to three (dealing with Nightmares and purging my opportunity deck of skulls) and I was aiming for 5 so I could get a Ray Drenched Cinder. Unfortunately the request doesn’t come with a name so I can’t explain why I don’t want to give away one of the darned things.[li]

So i hope whoever requested it reads the forum and I really hope they find someone else in a position to send them one.

Trust me, the 400 echoes/5 actions is far, far easier. I did it twice. Also, no skulls here, sorry.

Probably silly but this is my second time grinding skulls. I have already been into the Nadir but as I didn’t have enough Echoes to buy a Ray Drenched Cinder I did it the hard way the first time. I’ve got enough echoes now but once you have been in there is no way to buy one and you never know there might be a need for a Ray Drenched Cinder at some other point in the game.

Circe, that’s what I’m doing too! I like having one of everything :D

It doesn’t hurt that Seeking Curios doesn’t feel very much like grinding. You get all those different options, things to do that raise all 4 stats and it can be quite profitable with brass rings/pulsating amber as rare successes.

Ditto!

I’m doing it via expeditions which might not be the most efficient way as far as stat gains are concerned but at least I get no Nightmare increases.

I think maybe when I get out of the Mirror Marches I might try another expedition. I’ve got lots of whispered secrets now to get supplies:)

Oh. I bought two before I went into the Cave. I love foresight.

[li]
As for me, it’s not fine. My main had foresight to hoard secrets, but lower-leveled subs had really hard time. Every reliable Whispered Secret source are intended for post-mid level accounts:

Trading with Tiger, discussing Extra. Implications with island-scholar, or even strolling around University quad are impossible for most low~mid character. As always, Neath will gladly pay you with plenty of (vendor) trash but hate paying you with actually useful thing. *

As for Correspondence stones, It used to be so kind… but when they changed. At least they used to give 50 Supplies for Correspondence stone seekers, but now either buying expensive secrets from bazaar or grinding to 100 watchful and praying to RNG is best option for getting stones now. Gathering 30 supply is experience akin to grinding beetles for Whrring Contraption.
