Coming soon: a return to the Forgotten Quarter

[li]

I eagerly Anticipate.

Interesting.

I’ve always liked caves. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what dwells within this one.

Hmmmmm. Speculation hat on! (Speculative Hat, +6 Watchful, +1 Bizarre.)

The Nadir? Of the Fall? If so, which fall? The Fall from Grace? The Fall of Lucifer? The Fall of London, or another City?

The Secret of Secrets? Does this refer to the Secretum Secretorum, said to be the correspondence sent by Aristotle to Alexander the Great? I note that this text includes mention of a cave in which was found the final resting place and mortal remains of Hermes Trismegistus (for whom the sealing of jars is named.) There, clasped in his dead fingers, was a tablet of emerald bearing exhortations of the Principle of Correspondence, followed by discussion of the relations between the Earth, the Sun and the Moon, and how the power of this understanding will bring to the bearer all the brightness of the world.

(I chuckle to note that the text I’m consulting regarding this story goes on to discuss Alexius’ “Concerning the Seven” - sound familiar?)

So that was new! I thought my memory might’ve been a bit buggy. That looks splendid! And as luck would have it, I just finished robbing the Brass Embassy…[/li][li]

Of the collecting supplies options, the Appalling Secrets, Whispered Secrets, and Prelapsarian Archaelogical Notes all give you 1 Supplies/action. (Appalling and Whispered Secrets also give you a point of Nightmares and a Map Scrap respectively) So the cheapest of those are the Notes, since 10 Pages is worth about 1 Echo.

There’s another result for using Whispered Secrets - 2 Supplies but no map scrap. Maybe a rare success.

Have you received that result recently? My first two times using that option yielded 2 supplies, followed by four attempts yielding 1 supply and a Map Scrap. I’m expecting that this is a work in progress, so it’s quite possible they simply changed the rewards.

I got the 2 supplies option after getting the 1 supplies 1 scrap option, so I guess it’s a rare success with high probability or something?

I hope you guys haven’t forgot about an image called nadirgate on the wiki

I also got an Unpredictable Treasure with my completed expedition–it says some are better than others. Mine was 2000 jade, 1 puzzling map, and 3 touching love stories. I’ve echoed the text to my journal.

I got mine the other way around - first time 1 Supply and a Map Scrap, 2nd time 2 Supplies. Not sure if the other choices have alternative results as I had more whispered secrets than the other things and once I had tried each option I stuck with it until I got 10 Supplies.

The money option costs 10 echoes (or 1000 pennies if you prefer) and gives 4 research for 4 actions. Which isn’t really that great! I think whispered secrets or spare research notes are probably the way to go all things considered

I got a storm-threnody and 200 whispered secrets from my treasure

My unexpected treasure was, similarly to Miss Perative up there, 2000 jade, a puzzling map and 3 love stories
The thief’s cache was 500 souls
