I got all my cellars from breeding Hounds of Heaven. now I’m flipping cards and grinding notability to get the Presumptuous Little Opportunity.
I am so close to just going ahead and buying the fate-locked option though

Somehow I’ve reached Costuming even though my highest base stat is 147. I think I’m going to have to pause here until that’s not the case, but still.

I’m doing it the most inefficient way…waiting for them to emerge from the Opportunity Deck.
I only need like, 8.
Getting Dreams of Roses will also be a bonus.
Well now. Hubris has no Urchins favours. He needs five Urchins favours. Time to turn over cards for a while!
Oh god…Play as White, the choice that requires Advancing the Liberation: Slowly.
If only there was a way to decrease that quality without paying real money

Look around the Chessboard more and you’ll find it ;)
IT IS DONE. I’ll start putting things on the wiki later. Right now though, it’s time for a well-earned nap.

Sad that I couldn’t keep my hungry Jaguar Blade, and a bit disappointed the Head gives no cool stats whatsoever, but you know what? I’ll take it.

Found it! Wow, guess I’ll be playing a lot of chess.
EDIT: Nevermind, got the dummy! VEILS HO
EDIT 2: Whoa nelly, this is a hard choice. Finish the hunt…or use the Vake as my transportation.
EDIT 3: My choice is made. in 24ish hours, i’ll be using my ol’ pal Curator Veils as transportation

Where do you get Solacefruits? I want to hunt Curator Veils, but don’t know where to get the fruits.
Maybe a possibility from the tree in Parabola base camp, same one you get the orange-apple from? That required 5 Aeolian Screams if I remember rightly.
All the other options seem to be fate or season things. Is it required to progress, or just an option?
Am back in London at the moment, spending thousands of echoes on other things to progress the story, so can’t say for sure.

Solacefruits are a rare success on curing nightmares in Parabola or some option in the Waswood.
Any advice for getting lots of perfumed gunpowder? Wondering how to improve my equipment & wondering if I’ve missed something obvious again…
I have exactly one perfumed gunpowder, and one hillmover too, both acquired from doing…something in the university lab & Parabola.
I think (though see above re. me being wrong!) that further research will become an option later on, maybe after the remaining ambitions get going, and unlock more new things - isn’t there a currently unavailable required item that mentions a specific date when you hover over it?
I went as far as selling all of my valuables and expensive equipment to get the materials needed to kill the Vakes. Surface Veils and Third City Veils are dead, and the only thing that I am missing in order to hunt Curator Veils are the Solacefruits.
If I didn’t hate Mr Veils with every fiber of my being before, I definitely do now.
I’ve been exploring the option of random rewards at the Waswood, but I’ve only obtained petty relics and an Ambiguous Eolith. Either I have really bad luck, or I am not looking at the right place.
<Reach towards the shore - Draw out what you can> option at the Waswood gave me a solacefruit on failure.
I don’t suppose anyone’s gotten their rewards or Vake-friends yet?
The bounty is paid.
Update: After about half of day of camping at the Waswood by reaching towards the shore, I got Ambiguous Eoliths, several relics of the second city, knobs of scintillack, royal blue feathers, unprovenanced artifacts, carved balls of stygian ivory, and correspondence plaques. In the week before, I farmed about spent about 75 Aeolian Screams for Orange-Apples and repeatedly healed wounds to max Glasswork and Kataleptic Toxicology…
…but have yet to receive a single Solacefruit (the first gained from the Advent), of which I need six more to finish off the Vake. Any advice is appreciated.
EDIT: Further grinding at the Waswood gave me a Curiosity: Femur of a Jurassic Beast. The description reads as: "It comes from the Surface, but the Surface a very long time ago."

Solacefruit can be gotten from the cure nightmares option in your base camp. I don’t think anyone outside Failbetter knows whether it is an alternative success or some form of a rare one, but it is there.
If you need nightmares, equip the claw you gotten during the ambition. Or a sporing bonnet.

Thank you for the advice, I am able to accumulate Solacefruits through this method.
