Does anyone know what the Hinterland scrip is used for yet? Just got it and it seems to have something to do with land but i have no concrete idea for where i will use it.
Is this what you’re looking for, Optimatum?

(The two previous entries also deal with Lettice, in case that helps at all.)[/quote]
I already have the option text; the thing I’m missing is the description for the quality itself. (Thanks for digging through your journal, though!)
With 125 of those, you can buy a Sabre-toothed Skull from the Enthusiast of the Ancient World in the Bone Market.

Thanks for the answer! I suppose that means that the once every 4 week reward really is random, will be nice to see what i get the next time.
If anyone was wondering, the Lethean Tea option to reset your ambition locks once you’re done. (As of a hasty support email this morning.)
For anyone wondering, I have an echo of the monthly Ambition reward here pertaining to claiming the bounty. It looks like my pet theory about the Bazaar possibly attempting to use the bounty as a way to manipulate the Vake-Slayer is accurate.
I got some Nightmare reduction and Hinterland Scrip in return, and I don’t remember the rest unfortunately.
And I have the monthly Ambition reward below for sparing Curator Veils. The reward is a bump in Making Waves, 4 Hard Earned Lessons, 1 Night-Whisper…and the thrill of being the terror that flaps in the night.
Does anyone have the rewards for Surface Veils or Third City Veils?
So, to celebrate my victory, I bought the Veils-Velvet from the Relickers, and I think the flavour text differs now.
This is what it used to read:

It’s come to my attention that there’s an option for preparing a weapon of vengeance and killing Third City Veils if you did Seeking Mr. Eaten nearly all the way to the end but turned back at the last moment, i.e. when you acquired the Seven-Fold Knock which is apparently what you use to make your weapon of vengeance instead of all the fancy-schmancy book learnin’. Does anyone here have the options for making that weapon/killing Third City Veils echoed, by any chance?
You may be conflating two different options. Beginning the research normally requires an Impossible Theorem or a Wink from the Manager, but the Knock can be used instead. Then there is an optional, more expensive option to complete the blade that requires Seeking or the Knock. That gives a different version of the weapon with different killing text.
Surface Veils final text and reward.
I am very pleased with this outcome. As soon as I saw the option to keep one of the Veilses, I knew a Midnighter would not be able to resist this one.

Thank you for sharing this outcome with us, as I was always curious about what would happen if anyone properly spared Surface Veils.
Then again, the other outcome suggests that Veils’s interest in the Surface is far from benign. The wording suggests that Veils, regardless of what kind of incarnation, is a creature that loves violence in all of its forms, and that it will turn the Great Game into the Great War (World War 1) in the near future. Besides, if this Ambition taught you anything at all, it is that you should never trust Veils. Claiming his secrets and getting sole control over his spy network is probably a safer option.
All the possible rewards and outcomes are great, so it will be difficult to choose once my main account is able to complete other Ambitions like this one. Hoping for the best.
Oh, by the by - the option to un-thoroughly cow one’s pony - that was part of the Bag a Legend content and not the generally-available content?

That’s interesting, thank you for sharing this! On the topic of text update, my checking on the Fidgeting Writer bore fruits today, and now we know Fires would send you gratitude for dealing with the Writer instead of Veils.
Echo: Fallen London
Curiously - I’m not sure if this is intentional or not - the Manager seems to think that Veils himself is still responsible for the particular wing in Royal Beth, as shown in the echo after that.

You know, it would be easier to progress if Favorable Circumstances weren’t locked behind A: a Grind of 7 Notability or B: a Paywall of 8 Fate.
If it wasn’t then I could get the last 3 Airag to get Tears and be DONE with this entire fucking step.
Sweet mercy, I finally did it. I sort of wish I could wear a vakeskin cape like a Neathy Hercules, but just the head is nice.

That epilogue at Abbey Rock very nearly brought me to tears… I’m glad I was never tempted to spare any aspect of the Vake. I could never have justified it to those who battled him for three millenia!!
I’m happy that BaL happened to be the first Ambition I was able to conclude! It was always my favourite one over the years.
The first part of HD went smoothly for me, but I’m sure it’s going to become massively more expensive… In Nemesis and LF, I’m still sitting behind cost gates.

Okay, one Airag closer to completing the Ambition.
Two to go, then I can make 1 Tears.
the Lab Refresh has actually been pretty useful, if I get an Opportunity I use it, if I get a Dream of Roses I Walk the Walls with that.
Edit: Now I only need one more, and I got the Dream of Roses in the same Draw, so that’s good.
Edit 2: and that’s 7 for 7, now all I need is the Tears.
Edit 3: I did it!

Lets get down to business, to stab The Vake.
