A lil’ ominous here:
With a bit of oversight, they’ll be steady little earners.
Don’t want this to be too much work (micromanaging) or an action sink not unlike events or certain grinds.

Interesting. So the new feature is bots?
For quite some time now, I have quietly hoped for a special one time only or once a year sale of surplus stuff. So much of it just sits there. One in one out? I certainly try to be restrained in acquiring new items. (Spreadsheet? What’s a spreadsheet? Something like a bedspread?)
I definitely need someone to manage my Khaganian tea shop with 124 staffs.
Looking forward to this very much!
It seems like a great opportunity for even more tantalizing tidbits of lore and worldbuilding, which is always welcome. It reminds me a little of the upcoming FL pen-and-paper RPG, it’ll be interesting to see any overlaps and common themes.
And finally, it’s great that most of this is slated to keep going on in parallel to your regular play. There’s so much stuff you can do nowadays that I feel like I want to be in three places at once, and this will provide a super-flavourful way to scratch this particular itch.
The Plots, I expect?
Launching today, right? Are they live yet? Where do I go? Haven’t spotted anything new so far.
Edit: Oh just saw the notification, wasn’t there before. Blind Helmsman it is.
Okay, so ventures can go pear-shaped, even the tiddly one you start with – if the kit you have equipped is not adequate for the task. No materials lost, and nor are the actions lost (strictly speaking), but the time has to be reinvested.
Liking it so far.
Quite enjoying this. My mind is kind of giddy with possibilities of what this could do beyond shipping (I quite like the idea of an academic one. I’ve long wondered what my lab and its many students are up to when I’m not in it and I could see it as a good opportunity to employ agents with Watchful, Persuasive or a few points of more esoteric stats).
I was almost tempted to equip the luckless zailor with a Woesel before sending him on his tutorial mission.
Just to see what happens ten actions later.
So far I’m loving this! It feels really well designed to be convenient and enjoyable - being able to do it on a new tab from anywhere, without interrupting whatever you’re doing, makes it so much more useable; operating in parallel to whatever else you’re doing; the little notice when it’s finished so it doesn’t land up falling by the wayside like a lot of the timing-based activities do for me; the way it gives you all the info you need on the equipment so you don’t accidentally give them something you’ll want while they’re gone; the interface is slick and snappy; and it’s so nice to make all our old equipment useful again! My ‘Society’ feels very rewarding!
I feel like what’s been developed here will be getting all kinds of cool other uses down the road, too. I’d love to see some of these quality-of-life elements added to other parts of the game - if we could have this nice a tracker of when we can go to the Khanate or get a gift from Balmoral, that’d be fantastic!
So it seems like you can’t run multiple agents concurrently. Not too surprising I guess. So the main attraction of expanding your stable of operatives is to open up new activities with different rewards?
Exceptional friends can run two assignments simultaneously.
Per the announcement, you’ll eventually unlock the ability to run an additional simultaneous Plot. But I’m not sure how, I haven’t even unlocked a second Agent yet. Subscribers get one further simultaneous Plot.
Ah right, so I see. Wonder what the conditions are, just racking up completed plots? Guess maybe a path forward will become clear after recruiting your third agent.
You need An Accomplished Plotter 10 and then have to drop a bunch of resources to unlock the extra plot slot. It’s on the guide now: Agents (Guide) - Fallen London Wiki
I can’t seem to find it on the guide. I might be blind or it was removed?
It’s the last section on the guide, “Multitasking.”
So basically seems like the best thing to do is just repeatedly finish the first, shortest assignment at least until you unlock the second concurrent plot. Seems a bit pointless to branch out before then.
So I’m deep in the Stacks looking for a rare book and one of my agents appears to turn in a report and the treasures they found. And they are ready to go back out again on another mission! Such devotion! Great addition to my crew!
