An agreement amongst seekers

Ah, I see. It would be pretty hard to get an alt to that level, though.

So he betrayed you just now, or yesterday?

Yestdy-ish… 4-5 hours ago.

Hmm… It’d be great if we could figure out who he’s cooperating with, but I think the only way to do that is to notice that both he and some other player come out of hiding at the same time, and the only way to do that is to catch him right after he attacks.

It’d be really great (wink wink Alexis) if there were some “wait in the shadows” option that would allow us to initiate an attack even if our victim is in hiding. Then once they come out of hiding, the attack would automatically carry through. In the mean time, we’d be forced to sit idly by.

Alas, justice in the neath is hard to come by.

If so it’d have to have some penalties to the attacker as well. If there is no defence in defending, what would be the point of it? With &quotin the mean time, we’d be forced to sit idly by&quot do you mean akin to the old Sanctuary? That could work - but would it still be advantageous?

with that sort of system you could set up a dozen sockpuppet accounts, enter the game straight away and set them all lying in ambush so you could just wreck someone instantly the second they poked their head out of cover
which’d suck a lot, really!

But only high-level Seekers can betray someone, so first, each sockpuppet would have to somehow get the first two candles. Which sound like quite a lot of work.

limiting the wait-in-shadows ambush option to Seekers-only for use only on other Seekers would definitely stop people making dozens of sockpuppets for that sorta thing, but idk. the idea behind the whole betrayal system seems more to be to drive a wedge between Seekers rather than giving them the means to band together by ganging up on threats
giving everyone the ability to lie in wait like that would be way too broken, giving it to Seekers only seems sorta against the current design principles.

Yeah, it’d be a difficult idea to get worked out in practice. It’d need to be expensive (like costing a primeval hint or something) to prevent overuse and puppet accounts. It’d also need to be interruptible: an ambush could be thwarted by a third party attacking you. But I do think it would be nice if there were better counters to hit and run attacks in general.

Was just betrayed by Dolan

How many did he get?

ditto

I was also betrayed by Dolan. He took my 19 prize tokens. Curse him !

Odd, I just betrayed him and got the same number of tokens. At least I have my revenge…

I was just betrayed by Jacob Stadtfeld, though as he was still standing around in the open three hours later, I’m not sure I’d call it a particularly well-planned betrayal.

I’m surprised about Dolan. I would have expected him to be among the first to have 44 prize tokens from honest stabbing, given his past successes in normal K&C play. I know I’ve contributed my share to him.

Lol it seems jacob statefield just wasted 63 echoes on my 2 price tokens. I’m not stabbing until this scumbags get their knifes. See you gents next year. **** Jacob, Dolan and Shadowhand.

Out of curiosity, does anyone actually have St. Cerise’s Candle yet, or is it still out of reach?

I see that St. Beau’s Candle is still telling us that &quotthe time is almost here&quot, so perhaps there’s more than one step to this, which is why the betrayers are still hanging around betraying.

And I stayed in the Iron league with my sky knife in the open and barroque. I a sloooowly losing incentive for this game.

Seeing as he’s got both a waxwail and 7 knives of lost sky, (and he’s had his waxwail forever) I don’t think that is the case… He might’ve stolen tokens, exchanged his waxwail for a candle, then bought a new waxwail?
