All is good apart from a couple of bugs to report, one is where I get the shipyard’s description of the dreadnought I’m using overlayed on my screen when I’m not in the Gazetteer (this in only on a pre Amethyst save though). Second bug is getting stuck in the Gazetteer when I try to come back to the Neath after going up to the surface. I can’t remember exactly what I did but I ended up stuck on the Canal main page unable to click on any tabs or close the Gazetteer or exit.
This also happened to me, after I did the canal’s SAY event after returning from the surface.
I’m finding that the “Fury” card is acting a little like “Roused at Midnight” did in the early builds. I’ve had to deal with it three times in a row, in rapid succession.
I know how to work around the inability to re-enter the Neath after going to the surface. Once you’re stuck on that Cumaean Canal dialogue, switch over to the tutorial box, then tell it to let you explore. This will close the Gazeteer and make it possible to continue.
Bit of an ugly workaround, but hey, this is not a finished product.

I’ve found that workaround fixes it for me, too.
Insta-feedback on 1.4.1274: the content updating seems to work OK, but the information about the update goes beyond the box and neither scrolling nor clicking in the scroll bar now work. So I hope it was not important :).
But: YEY! the hold now looks sensible - good! And yes, at least for now only active options are visible…
Edit: AND! Fluke cores now go the Scholar, with a highly intriguing result…
Also: spawn points gone again from the map?

Be warned: some very odd bugs arose during my sojourn on Pigmote.
Managed to (i) get both sides mad at me but (ii) take on board both rat and cavy; (iii) simultaneously have the island claimed to be overrun by rats and cavies; and also (iv) have the overloaded-hull system break the game. Fun!
Still having the “see everything” bug on my old saves. I’ve been able to integrate it onto Steam without trouble.
There’s also a new quality in London that I’m not sure how to use.
Quick thought. I am being pursued by both bats and pirates. Seems odd that the bats want a piece of me but they do not attack the pirates.
Tara: before (re)installing the new update, delete everything in the ‘entities’ folder.
Keith - yep, it’s all hands* agin’ the PC :).
(*flippers, spines, paws…)
Yikes, Mutton Island isn’t the vacation spot it once was! This change makes terror a lot harder to deal with – it might actually be a little too aggressive now, I feel like the early game has gotten kinda grindy again just due to the need to work off terror.[li]
Sorry - we’re giving the whole menu screen a spring-clean which should resolve this for EA. In the meantime, the notes are also available here.
That was my thought too. Carousing in Wolfstack Docks can work off excess terror relatively well. In any case, after a while I stopped grinding pointlessly and decided to explore instead. Worked out surprisingly well, until I bit off more than I could chew in combat.
Thoughts on Pigmote:
Interesting that the whole string was doable at once. Sorta the opposite of Station 3. I think I prefer the dole-it-out-in-drips model. Pigmote was good fun, but the storyline was comparatively a lot of text at once. I hope there’s more Pigmote content in the future; I want a Cavy Earldom.
More broadly: I’ve twice been jammed up at important Must branches – at Hunter’s Keep and at Pigmote – by difficulties well above Modest. I’m a fan of forcing difficult choices that can fail, but could players be warned off of/stopped from entering one-try-only content when their stats are too low? Either by locking the initial branch below Stat X or by posting an OOC warning with a minimum recommended stat level?
Also re: Pigmote, I’d be really interested to know if you’ve got percentages on how many sided with the rats versus the guinea pigs.
Betting on a large majority for rats. Engineers vs a monarchy? No contest!

Pff, says you. Some of us are royalists, through and through.
My Captain prefers ‘Citizen,’ thank you…

As long as he prefers the rest of us as Your Lordship or similar, I think we’ll do splendidly. ;)

So I grabbed the game from Steam this time and updated to the latest content. I got a quick summary of the changes which included a warning to make sure I was updated to 1.4.something. But the version I have from Steam is 1.4.1256 which is older than the version I was warned to make sure I have.
I’ve tried updating to the latest content again but it’s still the same. Is latest version available from Steam or will it take a bit longer to show up there or something like that?
