Both will get you through, and the costly items of which you speak are not used elsewhere very much. I had six of them on my character, so it is up to you.

Personally I do not, but I can almost assure you that there will be no deviation from the main arc besides a few lines of texts. One way is simply quicker than the other if you have the items needed, that is all.

Hello, I got the point bag a legend 130 to collect parts of the weapon, but now the story-let link that was available is no longer appearing, is anyone else having this problem>

There’s one storylet part that is available across London, but the next part is only available in the Docks.
