Zeefaring (please explain like I'm 4yo >.>)

So… I want to go to Polythreme to pursue the Jack-of-Smiles story. I’ve got my ship, I go to Wolfstack Docks, I choose “Put to Zee”, then “Chart a course”, and the only locations I see on the map are: Irem, Void’s Approach, Tomb Colonies, London, Hunter’s Keep, Mutton Island, Iron Republic. These appear to be the only things I can click. No Polythreme.

I know there are supposed to be other areas, but I see no way to get there. What am I meant to do?

To unlock Polythreme you need to gather the two parts of the screaming map, a storyline you can start, if I’m not mistaken, from the docks. You will need to wait a day/more for the pieces to arrive at the mail to you but after that you can just piece them together to unlock Polythreme.

P.s the “explain to me like I’m 4yo >.>” Is a mood. I, too, need shit explained to me like I’m 4 sometimes.

There is another option if you just want to advance Jack’s story - A Ticket to Polythreme. That is a storylet in Wolfstack Dock.

But the Screaming Map is the way to go if you want permanent access to Polythreme. Like you got the Iron Republic Safe Conduct.

I don’t have the Iron Republic Safe Conduct, but I can see the Iron Republic, and it tells me that I need the Iron Republic Safe Conduct to get there. I’m not sure how I was supposed to know that I needed the Screaming Map to get to Polythreme, since I can’t see Polythreme.

Anyway, I guess I’ll have to get the ticket.

It is a very long time since I started Zailing and the whole thing has been revamped since then. I didn’t know that some areas show up on the map if you don’t have the means to get there.

I do remember using the ticket for the experience. It won’t unlock Polythreme permanently so you might need to look into getting the Map eventually.

Wiki doesn’t mention what you need to unlock each region. It’s implied that you can just go there. I only have Home Waters on my map, no idea what to do to unlock Stormbones or Snares or anything else…

Other areas also have unlock requirements. Finishing the University; the Dilmun Club storyline and getting kicked out of Court are some that I can recall.
