I’ve spent nearly 60 actions trying to travel to the Khanate (already had a cover identity) trying to zail. I’m not seeing “zailing” increase. Am I having a bug, or is that normal?

Just to clarify - where are you, what options are you clicking, and what happens when you click them?

I’m clicking various options, usually using my False Star to guide me. Troubled Waters goes up and down, but nothing else seems to happen

Which options, on what?

I travelled only by drawing and playing cards from the sea deck, and crossed to the Khanate with no difficulty.

Your travel is tracked as progress along the change point bar, and each time you fill the bar you move to the next leg of your journey (though some cards involve no travel and only have other effects). The whole trip to Khan’s Heart took about a dozen actions for me.

There is no “change point bar” The only one I’ve ever seen is Troubled Waters

Say. for example, the card with the lighthouse. Saying “Zail on” gives me no movement of any kind

Regarding oneiric pearls, I just got one by recruiting a Khaganian doctor to join my spy ring. I also bought a crackling device, having traded some silk for local currency. So yeah, the smuggler track is opening up here.

Anyone who can’t make progress at Zee: this is a known bug, and it can be resolved by changing outfits.

I am not sure if it is restricted but I don’t think it would be. I went the Academic/Glasswork route. I had a choice between the standard reward or Gant after sabotaging the power plant.

Here’s the text:

No restrictions on your front, but you must be playing Black or Red at the Chessboard. Also, the box is valued like a 312.5e item - it is a long intrigue.

What is the rest of items for master-smuggler? I’ve seen someone has built the statur already.

So there’s no way to get more than 10 intrigue points per action, right?

On an unrelated note: if you’ve built a lot of statues to yourself, you’ll be able to buy a unique item at marigold card. Costly, but good stats.

On a more related note: you can get claptraps and oneiropearls in Khan’s Heart, and the rest of the smuggling is 312.5e items and Master’s blood. Yikes. And the text is obliquely insulting.

Orthogonally related is the fact that we still don’t have final Watchful gains, and high Watchful is very useful in Khanate.

Also, we get new dreams for the three winds (at least, I haven’t seen Western) of the Zee.

Master’s blood, is it? Ugh. I do have one in stock, but I guess I need to start grinding drinks upconversions again to get a new one.

Near as I’ve been able to figure out, the most important thing is to be able to construct an outfit that lets you pass 100% intrigue checks at every point of the daily cycle. I’ve managed this through Respectable and Glasswork, myself.

Anyone else got a problem with the outfit-locked area in Khanate ? My BDR (in that case: respectible) bonus is much lower then what it should be from my equipment

Both Shadowy and Persuasive options are unavailable at the morning, but Watchful is useful all around the clock.
All checks are 100% at 300, but I cannot construct such an outfit for Watchful without moods, and yes, gains would close the gap precisely.
