When you hit Nightmares 8 in Parabola, you get auto-fire storylet that gives 1 Sighting of the Bird and reduces Monstrous Anatomy and Glasswork, and sets your Nightmares at 6.
When you try to track the Bird, the difficulty is based on number of Sightings, which is capped at 15.
You can get Nightmares 6, add equipment to get 8 and loop infinitely until you cap Sightings and remove equipment, though this will completely remove both aforementioned skills, and you’ll have to grind them again.
Also, if you hit Wounds 8, autofire storylet will damage your Mithridacy and Toxicology, but with nothing good in return.
Maximum numbers of skills are not reduced, only current CP amounts.
The Dome of Scales is already online. You have to randomly find a route during tracking some prey, then you can visit at your leisure.
Bring a goldfish, a weasel and a shitload of Memories of Distant Shores. You will be able to get 2 anti-BDR pets, expand Glasswork to 7 and max it, and grind Incisive Observations.
Also, you can now sell excess Probability Distributors and Compendiums at the Bazaar. edited by Aro Saren on 4/16/2020
You can also bring the Storm Bird to the Dome of Scales for a more consistent source of Incisive Observations than trying to climb the dome. The Storm Bird will not be consumed, and you’ll get 4-5 Incisive Observations each action, without needing to pass any challenges. edited by Carns on 4/16/2020
If anyone was wondering, upgrading your lab with 10 Fate gives 17 research on a success and 13 on a failure.
On another note, I am pretty sure I saw some options on a card that require expensive items (enigmas etc) but give plenty of research. I can’t have been researching the Impossible Theorem, as I already had two. Right now, as I work on the Infernal machine, I cannot find them on any card. What gives?
And finally… drumroll… where can I find railway steel? Perhaps it’s not yet implemented?

Experimental Object affects the means by which you can improve your Laboratory Research level. After all, they are completely different research directions. You ca n’t use the Red Science to study Storm Bird. I did n’t find any railway steel. Maybe The railway steel will not be visible until the next update in May.
In addition, when your Equipment for Scientific Experimentation reaches 9, you and Profound Student study the Impossible Theorem’s money-making efficiency is very good, the efficiency can reach 2.7EPA, if there is a way to improve the Red Science in the future, the efficiency will be further When your The Red Science reaches 7 (without calculating the additional improvement of Violant A Pot of Violant Ink), the efficiency can reach 3EPA, if you are Correspondent you will have a higher EPA.
Now I have the most advanced laboratory, but I have not attracted the best students. I am improving my "The Prestige of your Laboratory" to attract them to participate in my research. Soon after, when I needed to make money again. I can enjoy the high salary of the laboratory. I no longer have to leave London to move to a distant arbor edited by chiche on 4/17/2020
I found an option to use them while hunting. And an option to use Fingerking favors, which I don’t remember existing before.
Also I’m excited that I can now rave about Fake News. Glass Gazette: All the news that Is Not, fit to print!
You get them as a new Project in your Lab.
…A salary from the University?
How do you get money from that? So far I have only spent lots and lots of money (Pulsating Amber, animals, Memories of Light etc) but apart from the students’ souvenirs, I don’t think I made anything.
And now I am doing a 2700 research project, so I am quite far ahead. What am I missing?

I ’m still investing in my laboratory. "About college salary" is actually just a joke, but when you have a top-level laboratory, it becomes very profitable to make "Impossible Theorem" and sell them ( But it takes a long time)
If you think "Impossible Theorem" takes a long time to make, you can also choose to make Building a Cartographer’s Hoard
Rahv and others discussed it on reddit.
Not long ago FBG released a patch,
They mentioned
"In the University Lab, Disgruntlement of the Students has become more menacing. The Student Complaints card begins appearing earlier, and an additional card triggers if Disgruntlement is allowed to rise as high as 6."
There is no doubt that this will affect profits, lol, seeing that some black-hearted bosses squeeze graduate students so seriously that they have enacted a graduate student protection law. edited by chiche on 4/17/2020
So, you can only get Red Science from having April… who is I assumed ambition-locked? I played the ES, but I have the Heart’s Desire Ambition.
By the way, I finally stepped outisde the lab after spending a week inside - maybe more. Somehow feels like a different London.
Red Science is currently exclusive to Bag a Legend, while Shapeling Arts is difficult to come by outside Light Fingers, but we’ve been assured these will be both more accessible and more useful in future content.
Slight correction: There is a part in Light Fingers where you get either Red Science or Shapeling Arts, depending on a decision you made in the previous update. (I don’t mean any sarcasm here: the decision was significant at the time, and I’m glad it had tangible and narrative consequences.) I suspect Shapeling Arts is more common though, because the choice was Rubbery vs University.
A Pot of Violant Ink gets you 1 point of Red Science. But as far as I can tell, there’s no way to bootstrap that into natural levels. If I’m mistaken and there is a way, I would honestly consider a temporary change of Profession.
The content that’s already released has hints of what the uses of some of these will be. People in the Bone Market care whether the skeletons they’re going to purchase have traces of Amalgamy. Or Antiquity, which could have connections with Mithridacy and the Waswood items.
I’ve spent about half a day trying to get a thorned ribcage through this method, and never got one. I wonder if there will be another way to get one in the future? I’m on a quest to complete all the research projects, and it would be a shame if I missed one due to RNG.
Presumably there will be all kinds of sources and uses for the bones once the Paleontology activities open up next month, and even more once the Hinterlands open up this summer. All the endgame content seems pretty deeply interlinked, so expect more stuff in the University Lab and Parabola around then too. No reason to rush on the research projects before they or their mechanical context are fully implemented. edited by Gul al-Ahlaam on 4/18/2020
