Whitsun - Guide
So, I’ve done two augments on my scarlet egg. Can someone please tell how do I get a third?
If the two augmentations you already have are from places around the map, you’ll need the ‘Highly Illegal Experimental Augmentation Device’ for the third augmentation which can be bought for 5 Ha’pennies in the ‘Bring Up your Egg’ storylet. Once you’ve bought it, the option to further augment the egg will open on the same storylet. If you don’t want to pay for the device using Fate, you can save up the Ha’pennies Failbetter hands out if you haven’t already spent them all.

Already bought that and used it on my egg before I did the first two augments. I’m not seeing any option to use the augmentation device again. Did I screw up by using it too early?

So I’ll have to wait 24 hours for the final egg augmentation. And during this waiting time… what should I do regarding the Whitsun event? Buy more eggs? Crack them open?

Nope. It doesn’t matter what order you do the augments in. And you only do each one once.

Well, I guess I’ll find out in 24 hours.
Well, I guess I’ll find out in 24 hours.
If you check under your possessions tab, there is a Whitsun category. You should be able to see your augmentations there.

One of the success counters devs implemented just in case and for people to brag.
So far I know no uses.

It can be used to join Sophia’s.

Added this and use for Transfixing squirrel.

Thank you. Looking there now it appears to me I have three augmentations.

I feel the need to say, while I like the game it suffers badly from a lack of information for the players. Like in this case no clue that a new category in possessions was added. Far too much of the time now I am fumbling around blindly without a clue what I even could be doing and I am really not interested in just wandering around the FL map looking for things to do because of the actions limit. There are starting to be too many times where I do find something I can do, get started and find myself in the situation asking &quotOkay, NOW what dafuq do I do?&quot All my base stats are over 200, I’ve got at least 25 connected with every faction and &quotI&quot (as in my character) get no rumours or information about anything involved in a current venture? Its getting very frustrating.

Apologies to everyone for the venting but I needed to get that off my chest. Thank you again, Mulligan, for helping.

Ok, I’ve added this to the guide. Sorry, last year all this was deciphered very quickly and I perceived this stuff as well-known.

If that is in response to my post, it wasn’t directing at you. I appreciate all the player created aids and guidance. The issue is not limited to this one seasonal event, its the entire game. My grievance is that I feel some of this information should be in the game itself in some form.

Yes, it was in response to your post. Regardless of whom you were addressing this, it’s a relevant information that my guide lacked, thus confusing the newbies.

Thank you.

So we’re sure researching the Percipient Egg doesn’t give points in any skill? If that’s true, it seems like a real waste of time compared to researching the other eggs.

Edit: I just tried it myself to verify, none of my secondary skills are at cap but I still didn’t see any gains. What a load of crap.

It gives only speculation. ALthough it has a Toxifocus, it doesn’t raise the skill. I think someone just fucked up the relevant piece of gamecode.

That does seem likely. Someone should probably try to check with the devs, if that’s actually the case then maybe they could fix it before the event ends.

They ignore my tickets, so I can’t.

One of the sheets includes the information that percipient eggs can be sold for scrip. I can’t find the information on where that is, or to whom they can be sold. Maybe I’m just being a bit dense, but I’d appreciate a pointer.

YOu need access to Bone Market. Get both Dreaded and Respectable above 7 and you’ll be able to trade with Author of Gothic Tales. She buys untreated percipient eggs.
If you don’t have your own laboratory you cannot unlock Bone Market.
