That flighty lapidary has finally promised to make good on her (significant) debt to me - but I don’t know where to acquire venom-rubies? Any advice? She won’t accept amethysts.
I obtained mine through shroom-hopping, I’m not sure if there are other reliable ways.
Shroom-hopping races is certainly the fastest way, either with 3 fate or the opportunity card (and skills in the mid-40s and up for true enjoyment). A few of the opportunities presented to you may reward them as well, I know I have received two that way although I’m afraid I don’t remember which specifically.
I am on the search for sapphires if anyone has any advice for those lovely stones?

Sapphires… I think I got those from the Labyrinth of Tigers. Mr. Stones has a store there, where a success will get you sapphires and a failure diamonds.
I got mine by trading with the urchins - if you get your connections with them high enough an opportunity will present itself.
I got mine from the Mahogany Hall, utter ham that I am.
Most delicious, options! Thank you all kindly!

I think all the jewels are available for purchase in the Bazaar Side-Streets…
Other than that, I do believe I got a Venom-Ruby from an Opportunity with a gallant tomb-colonist.
If your Constant Companion is a Master Jewel-Thief, there’s an opportunity card you get to rob things with him. This gets you 5 diamonds, 1 sapphire, and 1 venom-ruby.

What do you mean by a Constant Companion?
That’s something (or rather someone) you can get at later stages of the game, once you’re a Person of Some Importance. You may have a look at my Profile to see an example…

Oh! That’s fascinating. Now I know I must redouble my efforts to become a Person of Some Importance.
Also, those damn devils.
For the low level persuaders, you can obtain a semi-regular supply at certain stages in your relationships with the honey-sipping personages with a halfway adequate shadowy score.
For those with a more steady supply such as a constant companion or access to the bazaar side streets, would anyone be willing to send me a gift of jewels via the opportunity card in exchange for some measure of favors more easily performed by someone of my moderate stature?

Scratch this, apparently my recent racing skills have just been EXTREMELY subpar.

Another source of sapphires is lizard-throwing at Mrs. Plenty’s. It’s a rare success, but if you’re good enough to lift tickets rather than paying for them, all it costs is actions to acquire them.

It appears that (lizard tossing) rare success has been removed sadly. Replaced with something else. .
Nope - sapphires are still available as a rare success on lizard-throwing. :)
Can we make this a sticky or something as it is the fifth post about finding venom rubies?
The thing is, then we end up with a big wodge of stickies, so I would prefer to keep them for absolutely vital threads. I am going to ask to merge the 2 recently revived gems threads.

Silly me. The sapphires do indeed flow here. So the troublesome thing is that other rare gem.
