At the PC Gaming Show. I’ll have to make a new category!
Older articles: Failbetter Games on how to not make a DLC | Rock Paper Shotgun and Fallen London’s Community Has Inspired Its Developer To Cancel The New Year. Search for “wisent” in them.
Thanks for the link! “[Wisents] look like a rectangle had a baby with a muppet” - still laughing at that quote. And I have loved wisents since I was a child!
There will be żubry?! That’s awesome, I love those dudes, and there’s lots of them where I was born, so it’ll be something highly relatable for me : D
Oh yeah, the wisents alone make me hooked already! (Not that I’ve been able to resist anything FBG-related in the past ten years anyway…)
I’ve always been enamoured with the mystical image of my bronze/iron age ancestors coming face to face with the incorporated wisdom and dignity that is this magnificent creature, at dawn in a mist covered forest after a rainy night, all steaming and dreamlike.
And now FBG may give me the chance to experience this!
I hope (and expect) there will be an opportunity to be a part of this via some sort of crowdfunding?
I choose to interpret this as Failbetter is inventing an entirely new genre.
If all goes well, the Discourse five years from now will be what qualifies as a wisentlike and what is merely a wisentlite.
Two categories: wisent and wisn’t.
No crowdfunding this time! But other opportunities to get involved with it, you’ll see.
Now this will be an interesting and new approach! Wish you the best and I can’t wait to see what are you cooking up for us!
bump
Except, y’know, a bump that meets the character limit.
looks interesting)) I’m not a fan of this genre, but if I were to start, I’d start with this one
I’m actually really excited about this. I always want to like farming sims more than I actually like them, and I feel like some Failbetterness might be exactly what they’re missing for me. The gentle-but-eerie vibe they seem to be going for is one I find makes a good balance between the cozy kind of things I’m drawn to in stressful times and the edge I need to actually stay engaged with the cozy.
Well, I’ve wishlisted it on Steam. Looks good, and the subtle Lovecraftian nasties will be fun to uncover. (Please hurry, FB!)
