Weekly Fallen London Questions, 30/10/2017

Thanks! (As I’m on Pacific Time, I expect I’ll finish everything up November 6.)

Normally there’s a little extra “turn in” time after holidays. You won’t be able to get any more confessions after the 7th but you should have a few days to turn them in.

So… we have the weekend to grind one last confession through Notability, right? I need a single, tiny one for the lance and I hope the option to get it won’t vanish in the next two days.

You have about 3 days to grind confessions.

So why haven’t FBG released a Dilmun Club pin as merchandise?

Can you romance the Wit and Beauty after being banished? I really want a menage a trois, but I also want to get on with Port Carnelian and all…

Actually I think someone asked this a few days back and found the only lock to romancing them is a memento of passion iirc. Hopefully that’s accurate a recollection

Has Port Carnelian disappeared as an option from Across The Southern Archipelago? I don’t see it as an option, should I have dropped into the Foreign Office before leaving London?

If your Imperial Legitimacy dropped to 0 in a previous term, you need to do a cycle through the Foreign Office and restore it before you’ll have access to Port Carnelian again.

Which ambition has the most, if any, SMEN content? About make a seeker alt, and want to try and maximize the amount of content I can get with him. Are there any other choices I should be aware of with SMEN easter eggs in them?

Ambitions don’t really have any real SMEN content to speak of. They are some distant second-hand connections, but you won’t really miss out whichever one you pick. Nemesis has probably the smallest lore connections, but it’s also the closest to SMEN in theme, with ideas of justice, sacrifice, and revenge being important to it. SMEN is self-contained in general, so you won’t miss anything if you just focus on it. [li]

Thank you for the response! I know that the content boundary of Heart’s Desire has an Easter Egg-esque option, so I was wondering if there was anything along those lines. [/li]

Is the fidgeting writer grind the only reliable source for night whispers besides expeditions?
On a side note, when heating the tears, are they designed to be used up every 5th time or do they have a 20% chance of being used up? The RNG has been very unkind to me and I want to know if I should get extra tears in case the RNG screws me up again.

With the new Dilmun Club content there’s a really good source of Night Whispers at the Court of the Wakeful Eye. Once you’re at that part of the story, you can collect Tribute then trade 20 for a Night Whisper if you’ve picked the right Tiger minister companion over there.

As for warming tears, it’s just a 20% luck check. You might lose the Tear at the first attempt, or maybe succeed for a long long time.

I’ve had Making Progress in the Labyrinth of Tigers storyline sitting around for a while and I started it up again. I’m at level 5 now but I’m wondering the benefits. I can’t seem to find anything on the wiki and I’ve been hunting through google and haven’t found anything there either. As far as I can tell its more prestige vs. item gain. But as I’ve said I can’t really tell. Is there a benefit to losing my actions towards this?

Monster-breeding on the Fourth Coil is generally considered to be a pleasant and profitable venture (although the monsters would disagree). A certain option down there lets you grind Church favours (albeit slowly) and gives a quantity of wine as a side benefit - quite handy if one is collecting Tears of the Bazaar.
