I propose reworking the Sous Catacombs to have an optional bone grind when you reach the end, you get a refund of all the bones offered along the way for something else as a reward.
Similar to Godfall pilgrimage.
Heads up: The Duchess is now on speaking terms with her sisters. Confirmed Stuff To Do in Shuttered Palace and Arbor. I have a suspicion the Parabolan Campaign is also involved but I’m not in a position to check.

Indeed, looking forward to checking Parabola out (apart from Arbor, obviously).
It certainly is a promising development - perhaps in the future, even more of the sisters might be encountered!
What is known on the status of the rest of them, actually?
And the poor, outclassed and forgotten Courteous Assistant could finally find something to do, what with the “sisterly” business. I have particular fondness for the Assistant, as the game of hide-and-seek with her provided Sir Reginald with uniquely memorable thrills, once upon a time…
Confirmation of the Duchess’ original identity and hints to the current roles and disposition of her five sisters were originally given in the ES The Attendants, back in the day. We have encountered more of them over time. Their current statuses:
- Super-dead. Left on the Surface, I believe.
- Alive and ruling Arbor. Probably doing the best of all of them, all things considered.
- Alive in Parabola. Encountered in the Parabolan Campaign and The Attendants.
- Alive but permanently bound to The Seer Palace in the Upper River. See The Poisoner’s Library.
- The Mother Superior of Abbey Rock, from Bag a Legend. I haven’t played that Ambition, but I think she dies during the story?

Is there any indication this is time-limited?
Just so I know if I should interrupt my current grind to take a looksee.
I wonder if there’ll be a tie in for the Poisoner’s Library.
There is no obvious condition that implies it’s time locked. It does refer to an in universe date, but I would not expect that to mean it is a time limited event.

Turns out you need some Queenly Attar to progress and I apparently lost mine some time ago. Oh well, time to redraw the card, whenever the RNG will feel like it.
Looks like this is just a fetch and delivery quest line. I started with the Queen in Arbor (still had some Queenly Attar on me) who asked to deliver a captivating ballad (assuming this is random) to the Duchess. The Duchess then asked me to do a lab experiment (assuming this is also a random task. It was also very short work and I got an antique mystery for it) and return to Arbor with it. I was then given “A Token from a Sister” quality that unlocked a storylet. There I met the Queen again, who then gave a night whisper, 10 memories of a much lesser self, and another antique mystery.
I’m going to try the opposite now and start with the Duchess, but then see if I can do the same again with the Queen before using the storylet. Maybe see if the two sisters can meet again.
Edit: No luck. I tried but all it did was make both storylet options appear at the same time and I could do one after the other. Feels like a missed opportunity.
Starting with the Duchess only really changed having to do an expedition in the forgotten quarter instead of going to the lab. It netted me 2 puzzling maps, 1 direful reflection, and 250 nodule of warm amber. The Duchess’ option on the storylet gives a searing enigma, 10 extraordinary implications, and a bazaar permit. Starting with the Queen again did have a different part when I came back with the return gift (it was once again from the same lab experiment), but I’m not sure if that is just because its random or if its because it was the second time and the game is keeping track.
I got a different mission when I delivered my first message from the Duchess to her sister. I’ve been asked to do a Heist, need to wait for my actions to refill before I can see what the result will be.

I’m wondering if maybe we need a dedicated thread for this new activity. I’m not sure why but there are variations in what we are asked to do.
The Duchess asked me to give the Queen a false hagioptonym on my first one. I’m still waiting to pull the card to get to Arbor, though. I wonder if the gifts are completely random or if they’re in pairs?
For starting with duchess, I have seen requests to deliver: false haginoptonym, captivating ballad, queen’s mate
For arbor queen’s second step, I have seen requests to: do a (new) heist, hunt a (new) parabola prey, a (new) 20-supplies expedition.
I think it comes out to something like 14 actions spent altoghether on each of those, trading one 62.5e item into another, and getting about 75e of other stuff along the way, which would be a bit over 5 epa?
EDIT: it’s 20 supplies expedition, not 30

Starting with the Duchess, I had to deliver a Mortification of a Great Power, which I don’t think anyone’s mentioned yet, suggesting that it’s not based on how many times you’ve done it. And then returned with a Forgotten Quarter expedition gift.
I was hoping it might have you deliver to different sisters, but seems not. Maybe in an update!
There’s a lot of text here, which I’m going to have to journal over a long period and then binge. I don’t think I’ve seen any explicit new facts, with the possible exception that the roseate queen has a tomb in London, which if true has implications. But the relationship between the sisters is possibly giving some more details on what exactly happened in the Second.
Thus far there are just the two Sisters. Returning from delivering a Queen Mate to the Duchess, it sounds like she’s not on speaking terms with the other sisters, which is really saying something considering the terms she’s on with the Queen.

But there are three rituals are performed in the tomb, aren’t there? I assumed that meant three inmates.
