Just why, exactly, is seven the number?

Made an alt to play Ambition: Heart’s Desire and I need to go to Polythreme. Wiki suggests I need 4th City Airag but I don’t want to risk spoilers by poking too hard — anything else I should get before zailing?

You should probably check spite, if its not there it’s probably a bug.

Nope. that’s where it is! Thank you!

You need only to bring a bottle of 4th City Airag. Nothing else is required to meet the King of a Hundred Hearts.

Merci, tak, spasibo, etc.

I explored the Fourth Coil of the Labyrinth of Tigers and started helping the bishop at the with his beast problems.

Is there anything of note for the storyline? Necessary preparations? Fate-locked content?

Why I don’t see Crooked-cross option on The Tower of Eyes card??
According to wiki , It’s should be non airs related option.

edit: ok . I shuffle through the airs, and got that option. You must have 80-100 airs. Wiki is wrong.

There are no necessary preparations beyond the beasts you must obtain. The Tomb Lion can be acquired at the Tomb-colonies, but a Tincture of Vigour will be required. The Somnolent Hyena can be acquired at the Labyrinth of Tigers, but requires Nightmares 5. A Plated Seal can be acquired at zee, but requires a boat, and Troubled Waters 10.

If you obtain a Plated Seal and pull out all the stops (max out The Hunt is On, Taming the Beast, and Thwarting Beastly Devils to 6), you will obtain the Hound of Heaven. (&quotNever mind that it is a serpant.&quot &quotI MIND!&quot) If you trade him in to the Bishop, you will obtain 3 Cellars of Wine, 6 Bottles of Broken Giant 1844, and 3 Favours from the Church.

As for fate-locked content, there are aplenty.

First, another beast that can be acquired is the Rubbery Hound. However, they can only be found on Flute Street, which costs 25 fate, and is unlocked via this card.

Next is Theological Husbandry. This is the main fate story centered around the fourth coil and its breeding project and costs 20 fate. It can be unlocked via this card. Doing so will grant you The Formula for Empyrean Redolence, which can be used in combination with the beasts mentioned above to obtain brand new companions. Including a Corresponding Ocelot, an Ocular Toadbeast, an Obdurate Stallion, and a Slavering Dream-Hound. If you combine all 4 beasts, alongside a Hound of Heaven and 500 pages of Cryptopaleontological Notes (obtained via Science Expeditions after being kicked out of the University), you can obtain the Bifurcated Owl, the best companion in terms of BDR with 4 BDR. The Corresponding Ocelot is also good for when you are making a newspaper and the Obdurate Stallion is a Dreaded Transport. All 5(?) have opportunity cards that grant something, presumably. There is probably more, but I do not know for certain. Because I do not have access to Theological Husbandry, I had to gather this all off the wiki.

TLDR: A Plated Seal equals a Hound of Heaven which equals Wine and Church Favours. 20 fate unlocks 4 new companions, 1 new transport, and probably some other stuff. The best companion in terms of BDR can be obtained here.

Wiki is not wrong. You didn’t click on the actual action page but were looking at the summary page which, by necessity, strips out some of the info otherwise it would be unreadable.

You’re both right.

The action page includes the right requirements, while the storylet page doesn’t show it in the summary.

The thing is that for most other actions, the storylet page does show the unlock requirements when expanding the option.

This is because of a limitation in the wiki template used to show the option summary (it doesn’t handle social action pages the same as regular actions). I’ll try to fix this when I have time.

To anyone going to Polythreme, I would suggest they bring romantic notions and silc scraps aplenty with them. Just in case.

Will Failbetter prioritize restoring the frozen content due to conflicts/bugs in the App version after the App is gone for good?

P.S. Yes, my tone more than suggests that I dislike the App.

And they should only go there for story bits - that place’s carousel is one of the game’s all-too-many RNG hells.

I can’t remember this - probably because I have never tested this - do my player character get an Earnest of Payment anyway if he/she doesn’t have a profession yet?

P.S. Flipping St. Destin’s Candle, man. What steep requirements; such is the hurt that Seekers get.

You do get your Earnest but A Professional Reward and Professional Perk actions all require you to have a Profession so you won’t be able to do much. Although if you do gain your Profession within a week of getting the Earnest then you can cash it in

Oh good, that’s convenient - except for one of my player characters whom I forgot to follow the plan for.
