Here’s this week’s quick questions thread!
From last week’s thread…
Is there a shortcut to get to the Tomb Colonies? I’m used to using carnival mirrors for the Slow Boat / Asylum / Mirror Marches and failing a robbery to Go Directly to Gaol (while avoiding increasing A Criminal Record).
For Disgraced Exile is there a similar shortcut, or does it come down to grinding Scandal? I’m aware of the Decadent Ballet and Romance options in the Empress’s Court but those seem like rather lengthy grinds rather than shortcuts.
I guess this boils down to asking what’s the most efficient and repeatable means for gaining Scandal? This is for a moderately late game PoSI (have lab and PBC, no railway stations) so challenge failures that provide Scandal are mostly out of reach, and more importantly out of character.
My current best option seems to be getting wasted at the Carnival up to Scandal 5 then donning some helpful gear. That’s only .5 CP per action so I suppose those alternative grinds are looking less wasteful by comparison.
Not that I’m aware of, but someone else might know!
You think it’s a bug or a feature that when you have 0 research and use an option based on new stats (MA, KT, AotRS) you recieve less research than you should. Like if you had 1 less point in the corresponding stat. 16 instead of 20, 24 instead of 28 and so forth. But when you already have research it works fine.
A friend who took his time Attending to the Needs of a Singular Plant can easily send one to the Tomb-Colonies.
There’s a Ballet at Court that will send you straight into exile. You’ll know which one.
That only works once, though, doesn’t it? Not so good for a player who’s already in the late game.
If this hint is too oblique, you’ll want to turn your attention specifically to the fruit of the Singular Plant, the Head of John the Baptist.

I’m not talking about the one that progresses the Making Your Name story. I mean a Work of Barely-Clad Decadence, which is repeatable.

According to the wiki, this works more than once. You’ll just need access to the Court (which can be lost but also regained).
I’m not sure the ballet is that efficient for scandal per action, but on the other hand, you’ll get 3k moon pearls as bonus and you can influence how long you’ll have to stay in the tomb colonies (the ballet sends you directly there with +10 cp scandal, no need to go up to lvl 8).
Dancing in public with your (fate-locked) rubbery spouse kicks you instantly to the tomb colonies. But you still have to draw the card. And then get rid of 8 scandal.
If this hint is too oblique, you’ll want to turn your attention specifically to the fruit of the Singular Plant, the Head of John the Baptist.

Oh wow - I have more than a handful of these… I missed that since it merely raises Scandal dramatically rather that directly changing your location (so it doesn’t show up on the relevant wiki category page).
Thanks to all who provided hints.
Is there a Guide or a comprehensive overview somewhere about where to find the new stat-increase options (Watchful Gains etc.) and on how to become a Paramount Presence now? I’ve been away from the game for a bit and I’ve completely lost track of these things.
There is no way to get “Comprehensive Study of Avian Anatomies, Oneiric and Otherwise” for someone, who perfectly fine with his company of Mr Smokey McGrubby-Kitten and really wouldn’t like to change him for some birdy?
To be less cryptic - I’d hate losing my Grubby Kitten, so I can’t get Taciturn Mynah as Connected Pet, so … no “Avian study”, no bird skeletons and no bird-skeleton-home-comofrot for me?
If you look up for Watchful Gains etc in wiki, you should find what’s needed.
for PP, it nearly works the same as before. just the way of overcapping has changed. In stead of grinding Notability 15 you’ll need to overcap to 212 via Watchful gains etc.

Afaik there is no replacement for Taciturn Mynah, if you want to do the studies. BUT you could do the studies and get the Kitten again afterwards. Roleplaywise you just give it to a friend for some days. ;)
Yeah, I thought of this, but getting rid of kitten involves Duchess, and there is hardly a way she will lose the kitten herself. And this is just not healthy for kitten.
Well, I don’t need this avian stuff that much for now anyway. And they added new way to get into Viric Jungle, so we will see.

Am I correct in assuming that Dangerous and Shadowy Gains still haven’t been fully implemented yet? Or is the wiki not up to date on them?

About Shadowy you’re right. Dangerous is full implemented for the current cap (212). The 3rd part is in the Vivic Jungle. The information about this is also in the wiki.

Less of a question, more of a small happy dance. Just got up to 6 Favours: Tomb-Colonies after getting Renown to 40 yesterday. So it’s on with the Scandalous garb and off we go!
Then I’m merely 28 Rubbery Favours from completing the Renown Items set.

Those were the last two I needed, as well (for my main-- my alts are about normally or weirdly far behind on renown for various factions). I finally got them both about a month ago (one very soon after the other, as it happened).
It is a little unfortunate that the Rubbery one is Fate-locked-- perhaps one day there’ll be a way for people who have the renown and favors but not the access to do some sort of one-time storylet for that.

Well, this might be a ideological problem, but I think someone that has played long enough to collect all renown items except the 40 rubbery one can invest the 5(?) bucks in order to support the developers and complete the collection.
Still I understand that you would like to see another way of getting this item.
Well, sure, and I did that, but other people may feel differently.
