Mr Sacks, take away our ignorance of the answers to these questions!

I vaguely remember that Exceptional Friends received not one, but two new stories for December in years past. Is that correct? Can we expect the same this year?

There are often new premium stories in December, but they’re not the kind Exceptional Friends get as part of their subscription. This year, though, I believe the new story will be coming a little later to coincide with the next Firmament update!

Has there been any clarification as to why people in the Neath believe, that reptiles could have had any number of legs (up to four)? I understand four and I understand zero. I can be convinced of two. The odds are where I am confused. Or is there historic precedence for this?

There are two-legged lizards - and there are also at least amphibians, if not reptiles, that can regrow lost limbs. Therefore, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that a one- or three-legged skeleton could represent a ‘complete’ specimen, in that it has all the same parts as the living creature did (in the period between it losing the limb and it regrowing it).

A question for people who have completed Firmament 3.

I appear to be stuck, wanting to remove just one memory, but unable to raise The Immanent’s Regrets from 1 to 2 to achieve this. (Other qualities are at the right level) Nor can I escape the five pages I am cycling through now. So it looks as if it will be two or bust.

Does anybody know what I missed in the lead-up? There appears to be a parallel memory removing option with the addition “One Chance”. Somewhere, but not in a place I passed through.

See Firmament (Guide) - Fallen London Wiki at the end.

  1. I think there’s an option along the way that says something like “destroy only one memory” - if you didn’t choose that, you are locked into destroyon at least two. I am sure I saw it, and several people posted about how they lost it because they wanted to explore other options before committing.
Looks like this corresponds to “the immanent’s regrets” - as soon as that’s one, it’s too late.
This is a “once per account” content, we shouldn’t expect wiki to be 100% comprehensive and correct on everything for a long while still.

  2. The one memory you destroy must be “stars”, otherwise it doesn’t work.

  3. the shepherd must be uncertain about his faith (The Lost Shepherd 25) and know the truth of the ritual (Hollowed 1), otherwise you don’t get the end you want anyway.

This was the plan at one point but is no longer the case.

The penultimate Roadmap in August says what you recall: that the Premium story for 2024 was delayed to January to coincide with Firmament IV. However the Christmas announcement included a small mention that the plans for a January Premium story have been reallocated elsewhere.
