Is someone still keeping the list of special kit or qualities used in Exceptional Stories?

That information is now on the Wiki. The page for each ES has a (collapsed by default) list of tie-ins and notable rewards.

I heard (well, read) that the Stacks are now the most profitable activity. Is there a specific payout to look for? A good way to covert stuivers into echoes at last?

I may or may not be looking for a new grind, yes.

The conversion from stuiver to echoes is still poor. Happily, some Stacks routes pay out in items that sell for right proper cash. The Book of Proper Speech seems to be best, followed by the Graven Apostate’s route. Both even give you some Rat Market items!

We need a central currency exchange: Stuiver - Echoes - Hinterland scrips - Khaganian coinage, all inter-exchangable at competitive but slightly inferior rates, with a strict weekly quota reset by Time the Healer.

I will repeat my petition to clear up the ‘orphaned’ social actions clogging the in-game mailbox.

have you sent failbetter an email about this? they are usually more responsive to those than forum queries…

Am I right in thinking that climb Stonegift for stonebark → trade for Presbyterate passphrases → sell 'em for echos is a pretty good grind? (Notwithstanding actions needed to get enough starved expression)

I don’t think stonegift is a really good grind. The relatively massive upfront cost in starved expressions is really bad. Stat challenges are high so you will need to waste actions clearing menaces. My actual numbers put it at maybe little better than 5 epa, significantly behind what I get in the stacks.

It may just be me missing something but every now and then I find I have a fuckton of candle stubs without being quite sure where they come from.

Is there any activity or card or specific end-game action that gives some as a secondary reward and through which I could have passively gotten quite a few over time?

There are tons of various ways to get stubs so it could be anything. One possible culprit is works for the Empress’ Court, you get candles from publishing certain things. You can also get them from doing some things at the Hurlers.

True, I should have mentioned the stuff I usually do.

Balmoral Woods, flipping cards in the Hinterlands for the Worm, those days flipping cards in London for Favours for Renown, High Sancta into Nadir, Boardway meetings, flipping cards in Burgundy for the Market card.

None of which give any Stubs as far as I know.

So my guess is there’s one thing I only do occasionally that hands out quite a huge number of them, but the wiki isn’t the most useful for that as it mainly lists the most efficient ways to get them.
