The Crimson Beast of Winter stalks ever closer - ask questions here, while you still can!
Who is on everyone’s Railway board? I’m torn between having as few members as possible, and seeing the options that everyone brings.
I have the minimum possible board - September, July, the Jovial Contrarian, and Furnace. (With the Tentacled Entrepreneur getting honorary membership for a bit every week.)
In the Laboratory Experiment “Analyse your False Snake”, do you lose (use up) the Preserved False Snake? Most experimental items get used up, but e.g. the Queenly Attar does not. I checked the wiki but that isn’t clear to me. Thanks!
You don’t! You can repeat that experiment as often as you like, just as the Attar one. :)
I will occasionally bring my standing board up to 5 if I think there’s relevant text on the way. More than that is too many actions for simple meetings. But I do shuffle things around once in a while.
I’m a Crooked-Cross, so I’ve oriented my board around the free Obfuscation. Furnace and the Commissioner are both affected by Obfuscation, and as a bonus both tend to have the most story-relevant text. The Entrepreneur is nice to have around, but also convenient to kick out, so it’s a wash. Unfortunately I am locked out of both the Wandering Gondolier and the Bishop of Southwark. I briefly had July on board, but she’s frustrating–her baseline difficulty is higher, so she can hold up votes that should be trivial (like approving station plans). And I literally never saw a line of unique text from her.
I’ve been keeping the Widow around recently because of her Smuggling option. So far she’s been entirely copacetic with everything I’ve proposed. And the Rubbery Yes-Man has stuck around.
When Moulin opens up, I’ll definitely be bringing the Hell-Scarred Gondolier on board in case he decides to finally have something insightful to say. I’ll consider Virginia as well.

Thanks very much, phryne! :)
ETA: just started this and the ability to use the reptile and amphibian companions in research is the coolest new thing in a long time! :) :)

I have a full board of HAL, Jenny, Furnace, the TE, the dean, and a rubbery yes-man. I’m considering kicking HAL and the TE off (and bringing him back a few times to expunge some debt), though.
I have Jenny, Furnace, the rubbery yes-man and the Viscountess.
I got the Viscountess to replace the Efficient Commissioner because she was becoming something of a pain, and I thought it might be handy to have the big kitty if we went through Parabola.
The Efficient Commissioner, the Jovial Contrarian (as I have an item that guarantees instant agreement), the Tentacled Entrepreneur, and His Amused Lordship.
Has anyone else been having problems with outfits not “sticking”? Mine constantly revert to a less-than-ideal selection.
Have you been hitting the "save" button after each deliberate change? That’s been necessary since they changed the way outfits work earlier this year. It’s the little teal circle with t-shirt and tick-mark icons next to the edit-outfit-name teal circle.

I have the Jovial Contrarian, and I like him because, if you ask for his vote FIRST, he’ll vote with you every single time.
My other members are Furnace, the Efficient Commissioner (Bazaar flunky), Virginia, the Tentacled Entrepreneur, the Dean of Xenotheology, and His Amused Lordship. I’ve avoided Southwark because I feared he’d be a hindrance, even though my character likes him. On the other hand, the Dean and his Lordship have been easy to work with. Because my mission statement is worker-friendly, I can usually use Furnace to bring the others around–hence, I keep her.

Ah, I haven’t even discovered the save button, since I haven’t used any of the new slots and just carried on as per usual. Thank you – I shall clearly need to look more closely.

The save button is to the right of the outfit selection dropbox in the Possessions tab. (next to it will be a button to rename your current outfit). If you’ve changed something about the outfit it should be blue, if not it will be greyed out.
I haven’t optimized my board. I’ve just slowly been adding to it and haven’t removed anyone. Currently, I have HAL, the Commissioner, Jenny, Virginia, Furnace, both Bishops, the TE, July, the Yes-Man, the Hell-Scarred Gondolier, and Cornelius. It helps to have the mates to get through meetings quick!
Not too sure if this needs its own thread or not, but on the offchance it’s ok here: I’m trying to get a Bringer of Death on my alt ASAP and cannot figure out how to get from Duelling the Black Ribbon 2 to 3 (I have aNSiB 7, unlocked the LoT up to coil 4, and a fearsome duellist 5!) If anyone could please help us out it’d be much appreciated!
There should be a storylet in Wolfstack Docks which lets you deal with drownies.

Thank you! That’s the one!
Anyone know what “The residence of a Khaganian Dignitary, where naval secrets are kept” for Planning a Heist is for?
