Here’s this week’s thread for quick Fallen London questions and answers!
Is the Neath’s Mysteries card still profitable or has it become obsolete with its 4 EpA?
Afaik the new "baseline" is 2.5 EpA, since this is achivable with some more of the new endgame grinds. So I think 4 EpA is still kinda good. If I remember the current version of the money-making guide right, you’ll need very specific items in order to crack 4Epa via lab.
Does going to the Festival reset laboratory research? Probably not but want to make sure I don’t blow one third of the progress to a theorem.

I still have my Laboratory, Parabolan and Amphibian Research on Mutton Island. I went there through Parabola. Things might be different if you take your own ship.

I’ve tried twice now to trade in a catch, but with 6 and 9 catch, I’m seeing nothing to get the unique items. Does the option not show if you already have them from previous years? If so, what number do I need to get the collar and any new items from this year?
Edit: I managed to find a way to talk to the mayor, who asked for a catch, but can find no means to give it to her?

Hey,
If you’re not afraid of spoilers, I would reccomend the following wiki pages:
https://fallenlondon.fandom.com/wiki/Offer_a_Hooded_Lady_your_Strange_Catch
https://fallenlondon.fandom.com/wiki/The_Wreckers’_Cove
https://fallenlondon.fandom.com/wiki/The_Fruits_of_the_Zee_Festival!
In order to make it short: the unique items just show up if you don’t already have them. And in order to speak to the mayor with your catch, you need "sights at the festival" in the right range.
Thank you :)
One last question, but is there a way to lower menaces on Mutton Island? I can’t use my items for some reason, and I see no means to lower nightmares (which seem to be doled out far more often than I remember for past festivals).
Give Strange Catches to the Chef to lower Wounds and the Curate to lower Nightmares.
You can eat Rubbery Lumps to lower Wounds. It’s expensive, but it’s not dependent on the festival RNG.
Lowering Nightmares is definitely less available. If you can remember (or look up) which options raise Wounds, you might be better off.
Not really a question, and no details to avoid saying spoilers, but the choice at the Drowning Forests from the current event is brilliantly done. I’m having to pause to think of what is the better option! (That’s not asking for what the outcomes are - I don’t want to know in advance, it’s a superbly set up moral choice)

Is there a shortcut to get to the Tomb Colonies? I’m used to using carnival mirrors for the Slow Boat / Asylum / Mirror Marches and failing a robbery to Go Directly to Gaol (while avoiding increasing A Criminal Record).
For Disgraced Exile is there a similar shortcut, or does it come down to grinding Scandal? I’m aware of the Decadent Ballet and Romance options in the Empress’s Court but those seem like rather lengthy grinds rather than shortcuts.
I guess this boils down to asking what’s the most efficient and repeatable means for gaining Scandal? This is for a moderately late game PoSI (have lab and PBC, no railway stations) so challenge failures that provide Scandal are mostly out of reach, and more importantly out of character.
My current best option seems to be getting wasted at the Carnival up to Scandal 5 then donning some helpful gear. That’s only .5 CP per action so I suppose those alternative grinds are looking less wasteful by comparison.
