Weekly Fallen London Questions, 15/06/2026

Here’s this week’s thread for any Fallen London questions you don’t want to start a whole thread for!

Has anyone else encountered a big old guilt climbing at the upmost roots of Stonegift? I don’t know if it has been here all along and I’d missed it, or if it’s something new.

Do you mean the one you can only access after getting tested by quartz to 20, and it first bumps your height from 150 to 200, and then to 500?
IIRC that was somehow known on day one …

Thank you for bringing that to my attention. Now I’ve got something specific to do once I’m done with the new dream!

That sounds like the one! Funny I wouldn’t have gotten it before now, I’ve done a fair number of climbs and thought I’d done everything the wiki said was there.

I still have some Officially Recognised Valorous Deed from sinking spider ships, but I am not too interested in the trade in options available with as few as I have.
Am correct in my understanding, that they don’t reset. I can just keep them until the next time the Admirality pi**es someone off?

That’s correct. I keep a stockpile for when the Rat Market has soft demand. You can’t cash them out when an event is happening but you retain them when the next event is concluded.

Good to hear, thank you.

I’m not sure why cancelling a social action requires qualities (menaces) on the sender’s part. This can potentially clog up your mailbox.

Edit:
Seems like an inactive player. If that’s the case, I would like my mailbox to be cleared of social action invites from inactive players.

Or do a great revamp of social actions and interactions in future. Inbox mails which expire after a certain time period. Social actions and interactions depending on how active/progressed a player is. Refusal of social actions should not depend on qualities or conditions.

I’ve had a few instances of very new players losing their enthusiasm fairly quickly, which leaves such attempts to help or interact marooned or orphaned. I agree that finding a solution like expiration would be a good thing.

I have mentioned this before, but it would be a good idea to easily view, at a glance, the activity levels of all the players in your contacts list. For example, active within the last 24 hours, active within the last 3 days, active within the last week, active within the last month.

This will help us decide which contacts to get rid of, which contacts to keep.

Active players who are afk for a prolonged time period might have an option to leave an afk message.

Has the game been running real slow today or is it my connection that’s dying in the heat?

I have had a lot cases in the past few days (as opposed to normal times) when the game was loading for a long time, then just stayed where it was before. There’s some trouble.

I thought it was router issues on my end, but about twelve hours ago I could hardly draw a card from the opportunity deck without investing an enormous amount of patience.

People who’ve officially deactivated their account do show in the list, as you probably know. Of course, that tends to be quite rare.

I volunteer on a site that prepares ebooks (out-of-copyright, free for download) where such information is available at an even more granular level if you look up another contributor’s name. So it is quite doable. Not sure how consent under GDPR might work there.
