As long as you repair your reputation at the university by doing the short story about the carver and undertake the right kind of expeditions (e.g. Bullbone) and do sufficient research (ca. 500 in each category, IIRC), there are still options (expeditions in the Forgotten Quarter, for example).
Eh, what? For me, or for everyone? Was there an update?
I used that swap route for some handy making waves to get up to notability 5 for monster hunter. I have no great need for it now but I’d still like to trade tales of terror sometimes.,
As to the rest, yeah, i’ll be restoring my reputation with the Zee voyage quite soon. Probably after the Mutton Island festival.
Once kicked from the University, most of the activities there are gone forever. Even once you are welcome there again, you can’t do all of the old stuff.
There is the Endowmen of a University Fellowship. 15 Flask of Abominal Salts will give connected if you have less than 20.
That should be more than enough for using the Tales of Terror.
Is there any way to gain connections: Summerset while unwelcome at the university?
I am preparing for my Zee voyage, but getting kicked out has broken the 50 item trade carousel.
Unfortunately not, you’ll have to re-establish your reputation at the university first, but when you do, another way to increase Connections: Summerset is by completing an expedition in the Forgotten Quarter (thieves’ cache is fastest and easiest) and donating the finds to Summerset College.
Oh, right, I see. Not the term passing carousel. The 50 penny cross-conversion one where you exchange 50 items for 51 items, and some of them get making waves. I wanted to do tale of terror> compromising document >memory of light, because I need a million of the buggers (well, a thousand) but the tale of terror swap needs Summerset connection 3.
I have increased my connections Benthic though some cards. But connections Summerset can’t happen unless I get reinstated - I think? Probably? I definitely can’t donate finds while kicked out.
A misunderstanding: upgrading Tales of Terror! into Extraordinary Implications requires Connected: Summerset, but converting them to Compromising Documents does not.
