This feels like something I should know after almost 5 years but is it possible to have multiple ships, or does buying one eliminate the one I currently have? I’m very attached to my Nyx-class zub so I want to know if I’ll lose it should I go for something else.
.. far as I know you can only have one ship (apart from the old crowdfunding one, that’s a bonus on top).
You are only allowed to have one ship at a time. You must get rid of your current one to start the quest to acquire another one, and buying one at the Fruits of the Zee festival replaces your old one with a new one. The Cladery Heart is a special exception, and it was only available to users who backed the Kickstarter project for Sunless Sea.
Also, for pursuing the Fruits of the Zee festival ships, do not get rid of your current ship before you get there. I found out the hard way, you have to be a captain of a ship to get a ship.

And the better your ship you bring to the FotZ Mutton Iand, the cheaper it costs in Thalassic Favours.
My alt got the yacht from FotZ because it’s too risky to get the normal yacht, RNG low success chance with losing items on failure.
Does one need atleast 3 stone hearted for the sisyphean dream, or exactly 3?

It’s at least 3. If you start with 6 you have enough to do it the whole way with just one getting of the card. It just takes several days worth of actions.

you can do it with just one getting of the card regardless, as it turns into a storylet in your lodgings (or my activities?) once you’ve started the story
