Happy Treachery of Clocks, to all who celebrate!

And by all who celebrate, I mean Americans specifically because the London clocks did their betraying like a week ago. I’m told this is because they have a different date for Thanksgiving due to Henry VIII.

Henry VIII seems to be the excuse for a lot of things.

Would you kindly link the announcement of the Fate detective mini-stories FBG talked about some time ago?

It’s from the most recent Roadmap post back in August, about halfway down. Look for “Candlefinder Society.” And only half of them require Fate! They’ll be released in pairs.

Thank you very much !

Is there an existing write-up of how to approach Memory of Doubled Spring, that’s more complete than what’s on the Wiki? The current Noman guide on the Wiki goes into more depth on getting the tattoo, but its coverage of Doubled Spring is more brief. In particular, it gives both worst-case and average-case requirements for Tears but only worst-case requirements for Pails. I need to plan on whether I’m spending every action in December on force-drawing the Urchins card.

I have been similarly hoping someone might revamp the guide on the topic. The best I found last I researched was a ballpark, heuristic recommendation from a previous trailblazer in discussions last year on prep:

  • 100 Nightwhispers, 700 Storm Threnodies, 120 Tears
  • Buy 100 pails from the urchins

I believe that might have been sufficient for last year, but my impression was it didn’t leave a huge margin for RNG screwage.

When does the Hallowmas event end? Meaning, when does accumulating menace go back to being a bad thing?

That’s on Monday the 11th.
(Of course, if your time zone is on the other side of the world from London, it might well be the 10th or 12th where you are…)

The switchover is at noon London time, which being UTC+0 means that simultaneously that it’s the time with the fewest people either ahead or behind by a day, while also being the one of the only times where both occur at the same time. At least in theory, the only places at UTC-12 appear to be unpopulated.

Take that, Treachery of Clocks!

During Hallowmas at Jenny’s school, the nun mentions confessions that she’s heard and says The worst one is about a lens and some glass wings.

What is this a reference to?

The Fidgeting Writer storyline? That’s what I assumed, but not sure.
