If that’s the fastest approach then all you kind folks feel free to send your scandle my way. I’ll put it to good use.
Don’t forget the scandal-increasing items: modish bonnet from Maywell’s Hattery, scarlet stockings from Mercury, and the item unlocked with Renown: Bohemians 10, which I won’t spoil here. With those, a trip to the tomb-colonies requires only 15 cp of scandal instead of 36.
I don’t know if this question is allowed, but I played through the Empress’ Shadow. Now, when I go to the Fate page, I can’t see an option to buy The Gift. Is there a problem?
It is there for both the one character of mine who has played the Emperor’s Shadow, and the one who hasn’t. Have you checked thoroughly it isn’t there? Sometime the Fate Stories shift around so it may seem like one is missing when it is just somewhere else on the page.
I’ve just re-set The Gift for a more considered play-through, and I’ve also completed the Shadow, so the two don’t appear to be mutually exclusive in all combinations.
It’s been ages since I finished War of Illusions with my main. Now I am going through it with my alt. I have to keep building and spending Seeking and Investigating until I get first points of EiWoI, right?
Yes, its a bit of a pain.
can anyone tell me how the “A particular day in the neath” quality works? I just stumbled on that in the wiki, when I was looking into pets (malevolent monkey) and there doesn’t seem to be any sort of explanation, although I remember playing one of those storylets a while ago…
It was basically the precursor to ES, though not in depth enough for most people to enjoy them. So they’ve been mostly phased out with a few left up to play through.
Ok, but how do the still available ones happen? Is it literally just on a particular day every year?
Some got absorbed into seasonal content, some are always available, and I assume some are just gone.
One example of one still available is the Affair of the Difficult Breakfast in Wolfstack Docks. Only playable once though.
I believe that’s the only one which remained.
The way it worked was via a weekly access code that FBG have released. Using it (which you could only do for a limited time) would give you a particular Day if the Neath quality, which would unlock a one-time storylet. Nothing major lore-wise, or rewards-wise. Just a weekly appetizer.
(Except for the one Day of the Neath with De Gustibus. I miss that one…).
It’s all been retired since before the first Exceptional Stories, except for that very last one (Affair of a Difficult Breakfast).

Ah, sorry. Due to the storylets shifting after purchase, it wasn’t where I thought it would be. Thanks for your help.
Does the Wry Functionary’s story concerning financial inconsistencies at the admiralty terminate after you’ve successfully repelled the attempt on his life?
Yes I believe that is the end.
