Hello, is there a way to decrease turncoat from 4 without the card in spite? It doesn’t appear for me..
Or alternatively, a way to increase ‘A Boxful of Intrigue’ with turncoat? (I see the tooltip says ‘Boxful of Intrigue’ can be gained from certain opportunity cards, but on the wiki it seems all those opportunity cards are marked retired..)
I came back to the game after a while, seems I managed to get turncoat 4 very early in the game before even starting this storyline. Wanted to go through it now, but after getting to ‘The D__nable Box’, I have no ‘Boxful of Intrigue’ and no new storylets have appeared in Spite related to it, including the one that seems to remove turncoat.
Am I just locked out of this storyline for my past mistakes?
Not sure really. Its been a while since I did that carousel. According to the wiki " The D__nable Box" should have set “A Survivor of the Affair of the Box”, not “A Boxful of Intrigue”, to 15 which would be needed to unlock the next storylet “A Key at Last”. Do you have the “A Survivor of the Affair of the Box” quality?
Also, according to the wiki “The Traitor’s Feast” which is used to lower turncoat is a storylet that should show up in Spite as well. Do you have “A Survivor of the Affair of the Box” of 12 or higher and at least 120 Shadowy? I see that it does get locked if you have “A Boxful of Intrigue” at 13, but you said you don’t have that quality now.
Ah, my Shadowy is only 113 right now, that must be it thank you! Missed that requirement
(My “A Survivor of the Affair of the Box” is 12, “The D__nable Box” I haven’t completed yet as it requires 13 Boxful. The ‘0-3’ boxful storylets don’t appear in Spite since I have turncoat 4, but I’m assuming after Shadowy 120 I’ll be able to see “The Traitor’s Feast”, lower turncoat, then progress!)
Sounds like thats it. Just have to grind out some Shadowy levels and you should be set. Good luck!
Edit: Oh, and don’t forget you’re either going to need 3 Revolutionary favors or at least one CP of Connected to the Masters. Those are the only ways to remove a turncoat. Keep in mind it will also align you to whichever side you use to lower it so be careful which you choose so you don’t get any turncoat again.
