Watchful Gains, Hellworm, etc

My progress with Mr Spices is currently gated on raising my Watchful to 224. Who wants to exchange case notes?

The Goat Farmer plugin tells me that I’m over halfway to a Heptagoat, but it doesn’t tell me how much total scrip I have available. Something tells me it’s less

After a bit of a bad morning, I caved in and made another Fate investment. I’ve just been waiting for my actions to refresh as I help Mr. Spices with its birth, and I’ve echoed the results on my journal.

I just sent Mr. Transport the space bat baby straight to Hell. I am the BEST midwife in London!

I appreciate the Yeats nods in the titles.

I’m taking it North and shoving it straight through the Avid Horizon.

Licentiate have access to &quotfree&quot headless skeletons.
1a add frame
1a add brass skull
1a declare humanoid
1a sell to theologian
= 6750p (skeleton value) + 1000p (bonus 4 biscuits)
= 155 scrip in 4 actions
200 000 / 155 * 4 ~= 5150 actions ~= 51 day

brass could be grinded very effectively in new location in Moloch (3.6+ EpA)

Huh. How’d you unlock that option?

Light Fingers tie-in confirmed.
Huh. How’d you unlock that option?
I’m assuming it’s a matter of which parentage you choose to emphasize. I’m quite pleased with this solution, since it essentially undercuts the plots of everyone involved. Plus I got to see the gate open, and a view of what lies beyond.
Light Fingers tie-in confirmed.
Any echo for those of us with a different ambition?

The tie-in is not large.

When assisting with the delivery, a second option named something like “Assist the birth, with confidence.” The pre-click text says this is not the most difficult you have witnessed.

Fallen London

Also uh, anyone else noticed the use of a new inventory slot?

Ah yeah, I remember seeing that option but of course couldn’t choose it. A little bit of added flavor text there but not hugely different from the basic version.
Also uh, anyone else noticed the use of a new inventory slot?
No. Huh? What was in it? The baby? I assumed that was just tracked as an immaterial quality. Was the slot named?

Yeah, the baby was in it while you’re giving horsey rides.

The slot was named “Burden.” So… yeah. The slot came first, before hat, and acted like a Destiny, ie un-unequipable. The kid has strong grip.

The kid itself gave -20 to all 4 primaries and -1 respectable.

Interesting. Can only assume they have further plans for that.

I like the implication that in a city where cats pursue their own political agendas a toothy, clingy, fuzzy body furiously gnawing atop a Londoner who is unable to make it let go makes them no more Bizarre than usual by Londoner standards.

Being halfway to the cider, I have pretty much exactly enough to get a hellworm. And now I have to decide whether to do that for a month, or do it after the cider. Tough call!

I wish the Goat Farmer plugin kept track of Hinterland Script as well. Saving for Cider all I had to do was the normal things I did, and I could watch the number go up. I have a hundred thousand echoes worth of stuff, but I have no idea how much of my belongings are convertible to scrip.
I have a hundred thousand echoes worth of stuff, but I have no idea how much of my belongings are convertible to scrip.
Well, the answer to that is never not &quotall of them&quot. It’s just a matter of how slowly and at what rate.

Right. If you spent 186,900 echoes buying Infernal Sharpshooter’s Rifles, it would only take 445 actions to convert them to sufficient scrip for the Hellworm at the Jericho Souvenir Shop.

So for those of us who are in the position to entertain going after the Hellworm instead of a Heptagoat/Cider in the middle-long term, what are currently the more reasonable ways to obtain Scrip/convert Echoes to it? I’m more than a little confused after all the nerfing as to whether there is any reasonable, grindable, 4+ Scrip per action source left for non-Licentiates. My academic is not going into assassination business.

Oh, and as for the Brass Lollipops (funny way to term them), actually it’s just as rewarding to sell them directly for Scrip to the Constable (155 Scrip vs. 31 Incorruptible Biscuits).

Well, you could always just get headless skeletons in Marigold for one action each.

I also realized the Hellworm’s card, whatever it does, means that the Heptagoat is still the only ‘bragging rights’ reward of this level of cost. Sigh.
