Is it possible to make acquaintance with a "new" Forger in prison if you lose his acquaintance in the last card in the Secrets Framed in Gold storyline?
If not, would someone mind PMing me the text/echo that results from demanding the removal of the last layer?
I am dieing of curiosity, yet I would rather not permanently burn my bridges with that particular character.
It doesn’t permanently burn that bridge, but the Forger is the Forger. If you break him you’ll need to pay 20 Fate to get reacquainted.
While we’re on the subject, I’ve long ago made my choice, but I’d appreciate it if someone would send me a PM with what happens if you insist on removing the layer.
In lieu of paying real money, I will let the poor fellow rest.
I would, however, like to second marcmagus’s request. It would be great if someone could PM me the text of what happens.
I seem to remember that I pushed it to my wall, it should still be there, I use it so little…
I don’t see it there, unfortunately. Thanks, though.
Starting from here you can find the end of that side of the storyline. I also echoed the Skin of the Bazaar card option, and some time after that I echoed the text for making his acquaintance again after being so cruel to him.
Thank you!
Mechanically, for a Scholar of the Correspondence, the mercy option is completely not worth it.
Which contradicts the text. I’m not surprised, I just wish I had known that.
Not a fan of reviving old threads, but I think this one’s worth it!
Sara, the echoes from the Bazaar card and Newgate are the only one regarding the Forger? Read everything between them, but I’m not certain if some of them are from SFiG.
Cheers and thanks for sharing!
Right, not everything there is SFiG. After the end of all that it’s just the Bazaar card and New Newgate Prison.

Did you echo your ending? I’d be interested to read what happens if you let him off the hook.
Thanks for that. At the time I remember feeling some “buyer’s remorse” over not choosing the “knowledge at any cost” option, but knowing that the final, final ending wasn’t anything particularly special in terms of writing helps alleviate that. (And the Repentant Forger’s been such a good and useful friend since, it was hard to complain too much either way.)
The very final ending is rather special I would say, but that part is a Destiny after all.
