See, I’d be very wary about that . . .
My concern is that they wouldn’t give you a means to get to around 294 Dangerous, unless there were reasons for it beyond just renown. If the cap is moved from 200 to 300, that would be absolutely fair and give us all the same amount of time to grind and the same current differences, and we could all work the same way to get it higher . . . if the means to get higher is linked to a renown item, however -?
There’s a lot of issues with renown, which are being pointed out on another thread, and - well - my fear then is either a very rare few would qualify to get this item . . . the rest of us would have to spend months upon months upon months grinding incessantly, focussing on absolutely nothing else, and then have to grind using said item to get our Dangerous high enough, all for whatever new story or check or ambition end-game requires it to be in place. It’d be . . . well . . . I can imagine a few people being furious :-/

There currently is, as you have said, pretty much- though not quite- no reason for a dangerous that high aside from renown. what rare exceptions exist are less-than-viable grinds or pay out so little it’s not really worth the buff- or they’re card dependent, though that isn’t the case currently
And yes, i’m pretty sure they would give us means. They gave us means to get several points higher in persuasive without adding any new challenges there- there’s no reason a thematically fitting one won’t boost dangerous as well.
There are probably a few scaling rewards, but most of them don’t compete with other grinds, and to get to dangerous fourty you’ve sacrificed about -over- 450 favors, assuming you didn’t already have high connected. since seven favors tends to average around 25 echoes, you’ve sacrificed at least 1607 echoes worth of favors to get renown 50.
I’m sure they won’t make it necessary for more than one storylet- certainly not a ambition gate. Even if they add more- it’ll just mean some people have to spend less second chances, and some people have to spend more. for 1607+ echoes in favors per faction, i think that’s fair. They’re not going to ensure that everyone must have X item, that’s like game dev 101.
