Has anyone lost CP in a supercharged stat yet? Are you just out of luck, or can you regain it back to your own personal cap? I don’t want to 'ware irrigo when I finally get up there.
Edit: Wait, didn’t this push your stats beyond 200 by a factor equal to Notability traded in? I can’t find that text anymore.

Edit edit: Oh, I see, it’s a different but related action. edited by crawlkill on 12/27/2013
I’ve traded in 15 points of notability to increase my persuasive and have lost some to the Nadir. No matter how little irrigo you have, even just one point, you will lose a level if you go into the nadir because you will lose at least 1 change point dropping you a level. If you go into the Nadir after increasing you stats aim for about 9 irrigo since you’re going to lose a level anyway. After that if you haven’t increased you superstat again aim for 5 irrigo or less because as long as you have at least 5 change points you won’t lose a level.
An aside, I like you the game makes an effort to show that 200 is the maximum level a human can have in a stat. Any stat you increase above 200 has you slowly become less human, or perhaps something greater than human. I like from a story perspective how the Bazaar is making us something unearthly, something more like the monstrosities of the Neath and deep sky.
By the way, I personally hope that A Paramount Presence isn’t just 200 in everything. It takes away the fun of choices and specialization if there’s a super-option that just encompasses everything, you know? I have no idea what else it could be, though… edited by Little The on 12/27/2013

Really? That does sound awesome, but how’s it communicated? I’m still in the 140 natural range, so it’s quite possible I’m not seeing dire warnings about not becoming what man was not meant to or whatever.[/li][li]
[/li][li]And that sucks re: losing superstats permanently. Definitely makes supercharging a stat the last of the last of the last things to bother doing. I seem to lose a few points of CP all over the place, and prefer not to tear my hair out when I do.[/li][li] edited by crawlkill on 12/27/2013

Though I haven’t seen it, I think he means the text you get when acquiring superstats[/li][li]
Mr. Moriarty has become an Invisible Eminence. See my mantlepiece. I happily look forward to raising my notability further, to see these…options, to lose a bit of humanity. After all, Moriarty already has a rubbery addition…

Good thinking. I speculate (baselessly) that it will require a tier 2 POSI (is that what we’re calling Shattering Force et al?), maxed Notability of 12, and a high single B, D, or R. Say, 12.
I’m a legendary charisma, with a character named “airshipmedic.” I was relieved I got to keep the expensive frock instead of it being “eaten” by the Gods of Arbitrary Sacrafice. But with an unmodified Persuasive of 200, why do I really need such a frock? Ah well, I don’t wish to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Hm. Extraordinary Mind seems to be the most popular specialization. Lot of Watchful players here, it seems. (Not that that’s a surprise; I would presume the most dedicated players tend to also be the ones most interested with the mysteries of the Neath.)
It could also be a sign that Watchful content is the most interesting and/or profitable content. Getting to the Cave of Nadir did a good job of pushing my Watchful way past the other stats. And after that I had a bunch of Sudden Insights from porters and Rubbery Men. And aside from coffee/dinners, isn’t a friendly game of chess a rather civilised way to socialise with people? Unlike sparring, which seems more focused on achieving something rather than just communicating. And loitering has now been sunk. Did I lose 10 CP of Connected: Society last time? I’m not sure, but it seemed like it to me. I think it was only -1 CP when those penalties were first introduced.
So my point is that Watchful seems to be a lot easier to raise, either on purpose or by accident.
