I would cash out the Incunabala in your situation. They don’t have many uses, and the return on them is top-notch.
For farming Night-Whispers, how high is your Kataleptic Toxicology? Researching Attar in your lab might be an option.
I think Kataleptic Toxicology is zero, I haven’t been at the laboratory for a while. Still at ‘Assess your Progress regarding the Replica Ancient Rifle’.
When something enters the Rat Market for selling, it remains for three weeks. Incunabala and Night-Whispers will still be on the table this upcoming week, and of course Fourth-City Echoes are always viable. Parabolan Parables will not be available to sell next week, to be replaced by a different item of equivalent value.
In another month, we’ll have seen all the Rat-Seasons and will know ahead of time what items will be for sale. For now, the only thing we can do is squint and stare at the relevant snippet in the Gazette. Last week I was able to make a good guess; this week I haven’t a clue.
“Stay indoors! Don’t look up! Light a fire in your bones!”
I’m glancing through my Possessions for the items that sell for 312.5, and seriously like a third of them could fit that. Bazaar tears? Starstone Demark? Ray-drenched Cinder?
Good call. That make the Rat Market into the equivalent of a Perpetual Motion machine, which I’m sure the rats are trying to do but it won’t be quite that easy.
Coruscating soul? Elemental secret? I feel like for parity it needs to be something obtainable, like the Hoard and the Parable have relatively known grinds. But I don’t know how much that narrows it down. Maybe Madame Petrovsky will be in a coma all weekend, who knows.

We can buy Starstone Demark from Rats. Presumably we can’t sell it. However I have no idea what it will be. Maybe even one of 312.5 bone frames.
Good call. That’s the equivalent of 312.50 E even though it can’t be bought/sold at the Bazaar. "Light a fire in your bones"…maybe?
My money is on Corruscating Souls. Would be pretty funny if fidgeting writer suddenly becomes profitable.
I suppose there’s also that one option to purchase them in Burrow, but that requires Portfolios of Souls which are absurdly expensive to procure. it’s pity because it’s the only way to cash out discordant souls.
Coruscating souls, also, were traded to us by rats, unlikely to reappear as a sellable. My best guess would be the ray-drenched cinder. Maybe elemental secret for second place.
Mourning candles seem rather unlikely, since thus far the floor value for sellable items has been 12.5e. Enigmas are possible, though I don’t believe we’re due for a change on the 62.5e item yet.

"Light a fire in your bones"…maybe?
Right, I mixed up the Rat-Season with the Rat-Moon / Rat-Wind - i.e. items bought by the Rat Market vs sold at the Rat Market - so now I’m inclined towards Searing Enigmas as well. :)
It won’t be searing enigmas for at least another couple of weeks yet, night-whispers are still staying for a while. The item to be replaced this weekend is the parable, presumably by another 312.5e one. My top guess is still the cinder.
My top guess is still the cinder.
Occasionally the Market sells Eyeless Skulls at cost. You’d need a revolutionary favour at each up-conversion, but that still seems too efficient of a profit machine. Even grinding favours off the Newspaper puts it at 6.94+ EPA. If the wind, moon, and season don’t align, hoarding a mountain of skulls for weeks isn’t even so terrible if one were only interesting in Upriver Cards. Although, the cinder could just be priced at cost or below the trend to prevent this goofy profit machine.
That’s a fair point… that might put Elemental Secret in first place, then. Of course it could be something else entirely, but I think these two make the most sense in terms of the clue.
Heads up… they seemed to have revamped researching done at the Laboratory.
Now the Lab cards are non-discardable, more ‘chancy’ with rewards of other items. You also can potentially get more research progress with a success. Meaning less actions required to complete a research.
I found out today while farming Night Whispers at the Laboratory.
Gazette: Stay indoors! Don’t look up! Light a fire in your bones!

Corresponding Sounder: One end of a telegraph circuit. There’s no connection for a wire. But every so often it will chatter out a message on its own.
…I’m not really seeing the connection. The Violant light in the Sounder is described as "not exactly blood, not exactly fire" which is tenuous at best. Any stronger arguments?
Just trolling I guess.
I mean, even if it seemed obvious that Sounders was the new item I probably wouldn’t have gone out to the Khanate to grind them. Efficient or not, I don’t want to be out there that long, and if I was out there I’d rather do something else!
