Active demands will be Ruinous, Maudlin and Soft, so you will have a wide selection of items to sell.
Advance warning: next week all but two Demands will be on cooldown, so we have a 25% chance of Eclipse on April 11th.
Once again the Demands are aligned.
Remember to check the Gazette on Monday, because we have a 25% chance of Eclipse on May 16th.
Note for fellow Burgundy-dwellers, this week is great for unloading Mortifications and Chimerical Archives. And for fellow hellworm fedaykins to part with Distillations of Retribution.
Next weekend will be a bittersweet weekend for Noman lovers: Tears of the Bazaar will be up for sale, but the Rat Market will only buy Night Whispers and Storm Threnodies…
Night Whispers can be ground at nearly 40 shillings per action. And there’s still more than enough time to fill up Night Whisper stocks the rest of the year.
Ruinous demand would have been much worse, with 35-ish shillings per action (I don’t consider the Burgundian Beneficiance loop grindable). And Inscrutable is only better in that Against Time and Kings beats Burgundian Beneficiance.
Good point. I already have more than enough Night Whispers, so I might as well convert 29 NWs to 7 Tears.
Are you running Noman every year (outside of just melting it into Elemental Secret)? Is there a reason to do it?
Also why Beneficiance loop is bad?
Burgundian Beneficiance (BB) is just not as easy to maintain for me as Against Time and Kings (ATaK). They cannibalize each other if they are both above 4 simultaneously and they are not designed equally. I might be missing something that could optimize the BB loop, but let me try to explain my thought process:
ATaK has 4 standard frequency cards (with Malefactors 1 or above) and one frequent frequency card (with wounds 5 or above). No costs, only some Suspicion and Wounds increase that can be mitigated with equipment.
BB has 3 standard frequency cards and one frequent frequency card (with scandal 5 or above). In addition one of the cards requires two Mourning Candles which I depleted my stocks of already. The menace card also reduces scandal on the option that gains BB, so one needs to reraise scandal when it drops below 5 to keep the frequent frequency card in rotation.
I am not saying ATaK is generally better than BB, they do have very different payouts after all and to some degree one can do both, but I typically finish a hand full of ATaK cycles for every BB cycle that I finish and I often sit at BB 7, 8 or 9 and ATaK 4, flipping for BB cards, having to discard ATaK cards in the process. Mileage may vary for players who acquired A Knight of the Order of the Golden Carapace and/or don’t do the Preparation for a Saint’s Day loop because they have more hand space.
I have no trouble running both loops at the same time (other than the annoyance of periodically checking the Myself tab to make sure I’m not in the danger zone for the conflict card). I just play whichever is currently 5 or above, and let the other cards sit in my hand till I get the payout. Only occasionally do I have to waste a “good” card by discarding it to avoid a conflict. I believe the overall profit per card draws from this is far better than simply focusing on one quality and discarding the cards for the opposite quality 100% of the time—that’s so many wasted card draws, and card draws are the bottleneck for this activity!
Mourning Candles can be gotten in bulk from Moulin Monographs, I believe. But I haven’t had to restock yet, so I don’t know how good it “feels” in practice.
Do you run both menace cards and do you have the knighthood? Oh, and do you resolve the conflict for Saint’s Day? I end up with only one or two discardable cards on the regular.
I run with the same logic, pretty much. I just end up looping through ATaK much more than through BB with that and I end up discarding otherwise beneficial tasks regularly…
It would be interesting if someone in the know could do a model for the different setups.
Typically only wounds. My wounds tick up gradually as I do Stacks runs, and I have cider; but there’s no action I regularly play in burgundy that results in scandal gain. And I still have a three-card hand. Ironically, once I have the Knighthood, I will probably stop flipping cards in Burgundy aside from the weekly payout, since I won’t have as much of a reason to grind stuivers any more.
I leave the saint’s day card in my hand unplayed, unless there is an edge case where I REALLY find it to be the least bad option. Like if I have 2 ATaK cards in hand plus the duchess’s card and my BB is close to 10, I might play the duchess card rather than “waste” a card draw—though I suspect that is not actually optimal at all, and only feels satisfying.
I just run BB, since I’m grinding for stuivers and not echoes.
28 April, I asked FBG to add those qualities to side panel in Burgundy. Got only an automatic response from the bug tracker. Ticket is [9ZV14J-GE730] I believe.
My current grind involves raising Scandal to almost 5 by riding hellworm (spare actions in City in Silver), running both loops in Burgundy and clearing menaces with knighthood card when I am close to Suspicion 5 from ATaK loop (spare actions in Stacks, where I also gradually get wounds, which speed up ATaK).
I sent a feedback e-mail with the same suggestion some time ago, as well.
Reminder for Noman lovers: during the next three weekends, the Rat Market will offer Tears of the Bazaar for sale.
We had a particularly lucky Demand roll, since the Rat Market is currently interested in buying the huge stockpiles of items produced by Law Forging during Estival.
I recommend to sell Crackling Devices this weekend before they go on cooldown, and keep False Hagyotoponyms to sell on September 5th.
FYI, the Rat Market will sell Legenda Cosmogone this weekend.
You may be interested for example to buy back the one you used to unlock the previous Firmament chapter.
Advance warning of a last minute shopping opportunity for Noman lovers:
Tears of the Bazaar will be back at the Rat Market from Nov 21st until Dec 8th, just in time for the Neathmas season!
Remember that you can efficiently buy 7 Vials of Tears in exchange for 6 T7 items, 30 T6 items or 148 T5 items.
We can already predict some of the Demands:
Nov 21st-24th: Captivating Ballads and Parabolan Parables will definitely be on demand
Nov 28th: Intricate, Saintly, Soft and Ruinous demands are possible.
Sadly, I have pretty nothing to sell at the ratket this week. I never rebuilt the stockpiles.
