So I am up on a reconnaissance mission in my airship Mighty Zero and am stuck battling the starved men. My percent chance to win each round is steadily dropping, I am almost out of fuel, and there is no way to retreat. The only three options are to keep fighting. How do I end this fight?
Also, is there a way to rename your airship? “Mighty Zero” doesn’t exactly strike fear into the enemy.
If RNG is very bad, remember that with about 50 AP, endgame BDR, and access to Helicon House, Favourable Circumstances become straighforward to obtain.
On a different note: has anybody held on to the commitment burdens? On one hand I am tempted to give them up because +20 shadowy comes in handy for the new activity. On the other I’m wondering why they haven’t automatically taken them from me at this point in the story if they are indeed only burdens and there’s no reward for holding on to them.
I still have “A Stalwart Commitment To Helping”, and yes, for much the same reason that it hasn’t automatically been removed and there’s a tiny part of me wondering if there’s a reward (although I expect there won’t be or you’d have thought there’d be a warning on the “do you want to get rid of this now?” option).
I went to the six places, then returned to London. I am now an Emissary.
Things that helped me on my journey: stocked up on favours, high BDR (easy after a few years of play), fast journey on the seas with the Clipper, and having Monster Hunter as my current profession.
Had to stay at Gaider’s Mourn for a while, since it’s my first time there and the storyline had to be completed before those pirates would help in the war.
I am now at the next phase of the event’s storyline. I am presented with a choice of three airship types to command. Not too sure which one to pick, I’ll wait and see what others are choosing first.
P.S: Some new items can be redeemed with Service to London after getting the factions to pledge their assistance.
FYI, the airship type choice is not permanent. You can always go back and pick a new one. I picked Obliterator, but you can always pick one, go on a mission, and then swap if you don’t like it (or just want to try it out with different airship stats).
I tired “Engage the enemy directly” with a 45-48% chance of success. After 6 fails, I got 2 successes in a row. After both successes, there was no option to retreat or return to base. Instead, I had to continue fighting until my airship was destroyed and I was put back in Watchmaker’s Hill with a lot of wounds. Any advice on how to conduct a more timely retreat?
