It’s fine if the date is a hazily-recalled estimate. Usually the only way to find a more precise date is if a player happened to journal one of their early milkings, but not everyone does that. We care more that you have a hellworm now, because the present where you have Squishmallow is more important than the past where you didn’t!
Also I have some squishmallows on the surface and now I’m going to imagine that’s what all Hellworms feel like when you pet them.

On the basis of my milking spreadsheet, I have had She Who Will Feast since at least October 4, 2023 and she has been saddled since at least February 17, 2024. I do not believe I have echoes to substantiate this.
It took a while, but finally I am a member of the Hellworm Club. 12 April, 2025.
I have noticed that there is no story text to record the first time you purchase your hellworm from the Upper River Exchange, it is only during subsequent purchases (saddle, boots, polish) from the opportunity card when you get additional text to record.
Yep, many players have given me a journal of their first milking as an estimate for purchase date. A little similar to how genealogical research often uses baptism records as the best proxy for birth date, since it’s most often no more than a few days later.
Does your new friend have a name? Doesn’t need to be official in-game yet, just have one picked.

It took just under a year, but my little boy finally has his saddle and bridle
If we’re keeping track of milk, ironically (the thing I wanted the worm for, just to have the pleasure of eventually getting the whole “you can’t serve hellworm cheese” thing, I got my first pail on my first milking (28 July 2024). I’ve got 9 of them now, so I should be set
My first two milkings were 50 honey, and +10 A Taste of the Garden.
An average start. You are at the mercy of the RNG gods: first for your Hellworm card to show up, then for the desired result(s) when you actually do get to milk it.
I found out that if you’re camping at the Upper River to play/milk your Hellworm, Evenlode is a good place to be. You can spend your excess actions to dive. And milking helps to reduce Nightmares that might be obtained during diving.
Edit: It’s been a week since I’ve acquired my Hellworm, here are my milking results. Duplicates omitted (Tin of Zzoup and Magisterial Lager).

Still wanting that elusive milk from the milking. So I can make some cheese during Whitsun. RNG gods are fickle. 
If somebody is looking for an even more elite club, the Knights of Golden Carapace currently have 3-4 times fewer members (29, which makes it more exclusive, of course) while requiring a contribution at least two times less costly to join. We also have the best menace reduction in the game and other perks!
After a year and a half of grinding, I can now make my application to join the Hellworm Club!
Jacqueline Kain secured her Hellworm, Carpenters, on the date 17th April 2025. Named sarcastically (affectionate) after it destroyed her foyer wall in sheer excitement on coming home.

Ah yes, the cause of Burgundy is the next thing I have my sights on, once I become a Power of Parabola (680/777 atm) with my throng of Parabola-roaming Woesels.
At any rate, glad this thread is still active. I’ve just (yesterday) accidentaly bought the Hellworm Riding Boots while aiming for my second Hellworm (first one obtained as the 15th in this thread on 10th December 2021, saddled on 23rd August 2022 - for some reason not stated in the first post). I’ll be grateful for the updating of my Hellworm-related criminal record!
EDIT: The boots are now on my mantlepiece.
Before the next day arrives, I must note that Mr. Pig now has a wondrous saddle, which makes my Burgundy hunts with him make far more sense than they had been.

So, finally I got my second Hellworm and was pleased that the game remembered his name.
Which means I am now a proud owner of Khorkhoi II. I suppose I should name him Olgoi, but as this means “large intestine” in Mongolian, it might be a bit too… fecally disrespectful for Sir Reginald Monteroy’s feelings toward his animal revolutionary army ahem completely harmless companions, I mean.
Now, armed with 777 Oneiropomp and Woeseller, on towards hitting the Stacks for some anti-Judgement action rewarded by Golden Carapace Stuivers!
EDIT: Oh and incidentally, I had also made the Hellworm Cheese in the first year it was possible, will appreciate getting the relevant mention in the first post as well.

Judging by my worm milking log, I’ve had the mighty Aeon Worm since around December 10th 2024, when it initiated the beginning of a beautiful friendship by granting me a Vial of Masters’ Blood on its very first milking. While it did not manage to completely bend probability to its will and maintain the ridiculous 195 EPA standard that it had set for itself, it did later grant me Masters’ Blood twice in a row and just this past week gave me 2 more with just a Vial of Cantigaster Venom in between, so I’d say we’re still getting along famously.
After a loooong time at zee (the Fathomking must be simply drowning-- as it were-- in sunken ships) I’ve accumulated enough plunder for diamonds for scrip to finally, today, acquire a Hellworm. His name is Arthur.
What’s the best way to celebrate Lord Bolo’s successful expedition to Hell?
Of course, dropping a 66-Amalgamy bomb on the Tentacled Entrepreneur to finalize the purchase of a Saddle for Skippy, his Hellworm!
The deal was completed on August 9th 1899 (2025).
The Saddle grind took just over six months.
Now it’s time to take Skippy to the Roof for a ride: Bolo’s next endeavour will be to run the Stacks until he can afford membership in the Order of the Golden Carapace.
He’s locked out of the Bone Market until next June anyway…
