New goons with a little story to them to spend money on
So I suppose that this feast doesn’t involve any new story with old companions? Not even something like the blatant rip-off from last year with the Missionary and the Firebrand?
Maybe I should just give up on this. edited by Jillius on 2/8/2019

If I understand it right some preexisting characters are being added as companions, which gets them a bit more story, and people seem pleased by this. Understandably so.
I just logged in and I CAN HAVE THE INTREPID DEACON AS A COMPANION?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?! [shrieks with delight] You, good folks of Failbetter, have made my year.
And now we have for 40 fate: Lupercalian mask, 5 shadowy, 2 bizarre.
I mean, unless you REALLY want all the bizarre you can get instead of dreaded for whatever reason, this seems like a very bad deal. Almost anyone would either go for the same BDR for less fate, or the higher shadowy for the same fate.
To be honest, I went with the Tanned mask 2 years ago for the extra shadow boost!
But regarding the two 40 F masks, we must remember that this game isn’t symmetrical. If there’s good reason, no matter of its nature, to get the Lupercalian mask, people will get it! I will probably pay for something that isn’t a BiS just because it suits my character. I have other games to min-max. :D
Talking only about min-max, you point is more than valid specially for those that picked the election hat! Even more, you need bigger skills for more renown, but, talking about a hat, the bonus is canceled by the moods!
I’m pretty sure the Jovial Contrarian would resent being called a faceless goon and would argue with you at length about it.
And if the poster image is anything to go by, the Impenitent Devil is the same character as the Repentant Devil from Sunless Skies. These are definitely not characters without story.
And honestly? I don’t remember the Missionary/Firebrand had a lot of additions to them either last year, unless you’re one of those people who want to marry them badly.
Me: Sets fire to a deck of playing cards and chucks it through Dmitri’s window.
Sorry about the whole "Not giving you 10 Roses" thing, I’ll fix it by being a critic at Watchmakers Hill for a bit and upconverting. edited by Deathjack999 on 2/8/2019
Since all my friends who dwelled in the Neath have long since abandoned town, I am in a position where this Feast is practically of no particular interest for me. Where does one make new acquaintances?
And a thread in this forum too! Plus, lots of people here are available to roleplay or simply exchange gifts. You can also gather echoes, get rid of the devils, and so on and so forth.
I’d like to make a general announcement that, because I don’t have much Fate or the spare funds to acquire it right now, I’m willing to draw art in exchange for Fate-gifts. Here’s my Tumblr post about it to explain in greater detail: http://thescarletpaperback.tumblr.com/post/182604470507/to-people-who-play-fallen-london-and-have-fate-to. I’ve done art-Fate trades before in past Feasts and everybody I’ve made them with has come away satisfied!
Have to say I am loving the Feast this year. I tossed all my grinding out the window and have been sending pink splattered cats and books of mushroom poetry to strangers. Also bought myself that lovely art print of the Clathermont’s tattoo parlour. Happy Feast, everyone!
