The Feast of the Exceptional Rose 1897

I can confirm that the send-and-cancel trick works for all the new Fate gifts. It also works for the two new free gifts for some reason, but don’t rely on that staying.

There’s two new items tied for BiS BDR. The Lupercalian Mask is a +5 Shadowy, +2 Bizarre hat; the Set of Martyr’s Bones is a +5 Shadowy, +2 Respectable home comfort.
Let me expand it with a copy+paste from Discord user umbral:

Unblemished Exile’s Rose (200 Inklings of Identity): +1 Dreaded Weapon
Lemurian’s Mask (50 Intriguing Snippets): +1 Bizarre Hat
Liberalian Mask (20 Fate): +1 Shadowy, +1 Dreaded Hat
It’s an odd feeling being quoted at oneself ;)

aaah more bones for my collection!
It’s an odd feeling being quoted at oneself ;)
Are you umbral? :D

Though my nickname is umbral on the server, my discord username is umbralOptimatum :P

So… since I don’t want to make mistakes… the best course is to exchange gifts for masquing up to 30… get the extra from exchanging Fate-locked masquing gifts… and then deliver the masquing to the Lady in Lilac after the 13th to get the deac… eh, the companion you want?

Wow! The Deacon.
For All The Saints is my first ES and this is my first feast experience, gonna read the amazing incomplete guide somewhere I saw yesterday first…

All I really need myself is 15 of the 2 Masquing items, because I just want the Contrarian as a compliment to his Lessons from Hallowmas.

But you have the general gist of it for those who want someone like the Deacon or the Princess (Though why you would want to catch her eye I don’t know.

Remember, it’s possible to get up to 21 Masquing using just the Feast card. (Use a 2 Masquing option while at 19.)

I’m still gonna grind for at least 15 Roses worth of Inklings (That’s a grind for 3000 Proscribed Materiel at Watchmakers Hill). Just in case someone wants a bunch.

Wait what am I doing, that’s not 3000 PM’s! It’s 7500! I am bad at math!

Oh yes, we’ll pin them towards the end of the Feast. :)
Thank you very much. You fine people made my day. Cheers and season’s greetings to everyone!

This is my third feast, and I still haven’t managed to meet the diplomat – can anyone tell me how to go about it?

Thank you! I would love a set of Martyr’s Bones but since I got the also BiS tea set, I will check the Deacon’s cost first…
As for how to get rid of the devil cards… you mean, permanently? For good?
Yes, without having to &quotlose&quot your soul to them.
Oh. Well. I guess I SHOULDN’T HAVE TAKEN MY CHANCES WITH A DEVILESS TWO DAYS AGO, THEN, SHOULD I?
It’s also possible to raise An Intimate of Devils beyond 20 this year. Mine is at twenty (why?!..), and I gained CP from the action.

Also, you can get to 15 without risk, if you skip all Serious Offers. I tried to do that.
Oh, nice, nice! Never played the story so far and I didn’t know about this option! Frigging neat! I’ll edit the post, thanks!

So you can get beyond 20? This is great and I need a new achievement! Probably 21 will be a good start.
Yes, and I have created a thread about it.

So…someone sent me a Well-Song. I am flattered and spooked. Should I accept? What does it do? Wells give me the creeps. I mean, they didn’t, but then I started to play Fallen London.

A Well-Song does nothing, though it can be exchanged for 50 Masquing. Perhaps you could meet someone new with it.

The Deacon story looks really appealing. One day, when I actually have Fate, I will try it. (Right now I have a measly 3 Fate [Ha])

Hold on, 2BDR home comforts? And more than just this one? That’s big news to me, what did I miss?

Plus looks arguably better in the living room than a Martyr’s bones. Then again, there’s no accounting for taste.

I also find the Lupercalian mask a puzzling addition. I mean, let’s review:

30 fate: Mouthless amber mask, 2 shadowy, 1 dreaded, 1 bizarre
40 fate: Tanned mask, 7 shadowy, 2 dreaded

And now we have for 40 fate: Lupercalian mask, 5 shadowy, 2 bizarre.

I mean, unless you REALLY want all the bizarre you can get instead of dreaded for whatever reason, this seems like a very bad deal. Almost anyone would either go for the same BDR for less fate, or the higher shadowy for the same fate.
