After a recent perusal of the forums, I’ve discovered a recurring theme of only half-joking reminiscing on the lives of former Sunless Sea captains- those lost to the monsters, the terror, the pirates, or the will of a mad god (also known as a difference of opinion between your game and the latest update). To give voice to those who might wish to immortalize their perished captains, I propose posting short obituaries. For example:
"Father Murtrey, captain of the Unsought, former priest of London, was confirmed dead today after his only remaining crewman, a navigator of dubious skill, was rescued off the coast of the Varchas. Captain Murtrey, hero of the Battle of Cavia, favored of Her Enduring Majesty’s Admiralty, champion Lifeberg slayer, occasional smuggler, and slightly less occasional cannibal, went down with his vessel during a Lorn-Fluke attack near Fathomking’s Hold on February 11, 1892. He leaves to his heir a Zeeside Mansion and numerous heirlooms, in addition to a waterlogged journal containing secret zee knowledge and the continued service of aforementioned dubiously skilled navigator."
