[spoilers] Postponing Hunters Keep Event.

Hi, is there any way to postpone the fire at Hunters keep?

The only way I know is just don’t go there. I’m not sure how many visits it takes or if which sister you visit makes any difference in the outcome but eventually it burns.

I think it’s random, like there’s a hidden counter that gets +0-1.

Except it might be 1-5 or something like that which would make it impossible to delay indefinitely.

…but if you get the silent house you could try reloading the autosave and trying again to delay it.

I think there may be a Time Passing trigger independent of number of visits - on a recent character I visited it once or twice early on, then avoided it for a long time, and on my first visit back (i.e. second or third total) it burned.

It seems to happen after you get the “but something has changed” on your visit, but randomly after that. At one point I got it on my 2nd or 3rd visit after that began appearing, another I went a good 5 or 6 times past something having changed and it was still standing.

I’m pretty sure it’s a counter attached to the “You’re acquainted with the sisters of Hunter’s keep” that increments every time you talk to one, with the ‘something has changed’ showing up when it’s almost to the threshhold of the silent house.

I’m not sure the exact mechanics, but if it works that way using the news option to talk to them again would probably accelerate it.

Thanks ppl…
Tis a shame, I ll see how I go, Im not visiting there in my new game untill Im looking for cheep terror reduction later after exploring open areas of the zea.

I think it’s 3 visits, regardless of which sister you talk to.

[li]in my games, i’ve spammed the ol’ Keep hard. a mandatory return stop before London for every excursion out; 10 points for the initial pic-yer-sis, another 10 after offering news & pounding it again. 20 down for a cost of 10 echoes. it does not last long under that kind of intense pressure, but i definitely get a good run out of it - much more than 3. i get the sense that it’s a combo model that factors the passage of time and the amount of use.

once that bridge is burned, it’s teeth to Abbey, a good night’s rest in the manse, and carousing at the docks to knock any last remaining points. still fairly cheap, after you make the initial layout and provided you can get gritty with the critters. i’ve had trips where trophy-paying targets ran remarkably scarce. Sunless Sea to Dead Sea, in spite of all my terror agitation.
